Pros: Seems to charge various USB based devices
Cons: I bought this specifically to charge my iPhone 4s but it doesn't work. Tried both ports and neither work.
Other Thoughts: The vendor specifically claims that it works on iPhone4s yet it does not. Stay away from it if your intention is to charge your iPhone 4s. I rated this 1 star specifically because it claimed it can charge an iPhone4s. Had that claim not been there I would hate rated it higher.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Cavalry CAXB 2TB USB 2.0 / eSATA 3.5" External Hard Drive CAXB3702T3 Black
Pros: I like the small footprint and ergonomics of the enclosure. It has a USB and eSATA interface which is very convenient as well as an On/Off switch.
Cons: It was DOA. The drive powers on but is not recognized by any number of different OS's (Windows 7, XP, Linux). After trying to get it to work for a while I noticed a very faint clicking sound from the drive which confirmed the worse for me. The picture of the drive on NewEgg is not reflective of the drive that I received (see other thoughts).
Other Thoughts: I purchased this drive to replace an acomdata drive that is failing (periodically it stops working). Upon receipt of this drive and discovery that it was DOA I noticed that it had the identical enclosure and instrumentation as the acomdata drive. This includes the molding on the front as well as the instrumentation panel on the back of the drive. They're identical as if this drive enclosure was made by the same manufacturer but stamped with Cavalry instead of acomdata. I've owned one other Cavalry drive and it is exceptionally reliable after a number of years so I ignored the numerous DOA reports on this drive and decided to purchase anyway. It is disappointing that I had to pay for shipping it back and thus losing out on any savings. To add insult to injury the option to go with Newegg for RMA shipping seems to be the slowest on the planet...a week has gone by and still hasn't left my town via UPS. With such high DOA hit-rate this should be removed from Newegg's inventoryREAD FULL REVIEW
Pros: Installation: Extremely easy. My 100GB Drive plugged right in and powered via USB without a problem (one USB). It came with rubber o-rings which helps in shock and insulating the drive from the case which is excellent.
Function: Works, worked well and no problems thus far.
Performance: As good as I expected out of my 100GB drive.
Look/Feel: Very nice case and practically fits in your pocket. Shiny though susceptible to fingerprints.
Cons: These are minor cons but nonetheless they are what drove me to rate it down to 4 (4.5 wasn't an option)
The button: doesn't do anything. Would have been nice if it was an on/off switch.
No external Power Supply: I knew that it didn't include one when I bought it but now I'm realizing that I could have used an external PS on several occasions. Now-a-days there are many devices such as DVD players with USB ports. To use this device I would need an external PS.
Other Thoughts: The carrying case is a bit spacious. I was hoping for a snug small case to carry the drive in but this case is slightly too big. It could be an advantage or disadvantage but it helps to be aware of that. Had they included a power supply this case would have been perfect. It is as if the PS was planned but then was not included in the final release of the product.READ FULL REVIEW
