This review is from: SONY DSC-RX100/B Black 20.2 MP 3.6X Optical Zoom Digital Camera HDTV Output
Pros: size, image sensor, f1.8 lens
Cons: flash recharge, brief owner's manual
Other Thoughts: First point is that for me Newegg is by far the best retailer on the internet, bar none. They always deliver above expectation. Seems I have been doing business with them since about 1999 or so.
This Sony Cybershop DSC rx100 is my best camera, having owned a 3.3 mega pixel Olympus that cost $950 (before digital SLRs), then a small Canon and after that a Panasonic DZ4.
The body of the rx100 is quite small, almost delicate, and does not seem to be suitable to a clumsy person. Hence you see that type of complaint around. Also, because of its size, sold feel and build quality, some assume you can “throw it in your pocket” and just go. It remains a fairly complex mechanical device. Although is not a cell phone, apparently it is being treated like one, tossed on the beach blanket when not in use and left there for the day. I recommend treating this camera delicately, with care, perhaps extra care and that you be the only person to touch it. Yahoos might think they have a smart phone in hand. After all, I think the original price was about $750. But if it is just another toy to you, please do not cry when it fails to operate.
The secret to photography is first and foremost to have the camera with you. If you have an eye and the camera with you, there is no end to what you will come up with. Unless you were hired to do a wedding (what a horrid career), you will neither tote around nor even be seen carrying the bucket of sand known as a DSLR, you will just never have it with you. It is too much care and bother. And certainly no one wants to see you with it in your arms. And so, this little one fits the bill quite nicely.
The rx-100’s primary attributes, besides its size, are the one inch sensor and the f1.8 lens. Shooting in daylight is almost as fast as you can press the shutter button, allowing you to get the best candid shots after the posing. It is necessary to take one hundred shots to get a nearly decent one, the world is so unpredictable. There is a very powerful flash, but you do not need it, almost. In full manual setting mode, there are few situations whereupon you cannot apply the right combination of aperture, lens speed and ISO setting not to give you acceptable results, sometimes stunning. It seems that the flash is so powerful that there is a long lag between full charges, so beware of that and use it like you would your last protection, since you will only get one shot. The other advantage of not using a flash is that people do not know you are taking photos. The flash has become so ubiquitous, that without that sparkle, no one know what you are about. And with the speedy lens, fast shutter and high ISO, you disappear into all the other things going on.
Of course, no digital camera is complete without editing software; so you need Photoshop to complete your work and spare the world the tedium of looking at one’s gibberish.

Pros: Works fine in my very portable SanDisk Sansa Clip 8GP. More memory than a person can use. Rated 10, exceptional bargain at $10 shell shocker, with a lifetime warranty. I am very easily pleased.
Cons: Yes, I spent two years in jail, but on a bum rap.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: What a wonderful set of earphones for my audio book listening during my morning walks.
But, come on pink? Was this done on purpose? What fool would chose to produce pink instead of black? Appears to be a yahoo. But then again, they are in charge, aren't they?
Cons: how could there be a con on this? It is just a thing.READ FULL REVIEW
