ASUS Rampage II Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS Rampage II Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: great board for overclocking

Cons: 1st board blew out after 2 months something to do with the ram slots.. 2nd board ran great until either my video cards smoked the board or the board smoked the video cards.. poor layout you lose 2 top slots, one for the heat sink and one for the "on board sound" and when running tri sli the bottom card hangs down off the bottom slot on my case anyways a lian li 343b.. im done with this board.. picked up a supercomputer board to support what i need..

Overall Review: you pay almost 400 dollars for a motherboard you expect perfection this was far from it.. ive always used asus always been great boards but the last year or 2 has been a bad nightmare. i went with asus again for the supercomputer board so lets hope its not near as bad as this experience was with the rampage. i gave it 2 eggs as if your a overclocking junkie this is the board for you.

ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: very well built bord

Cons: i give it a 4... no sli makes me unhappy, i just do not understand why they just do not make them both sli and crossfire

what they dont tell you

EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Video Card 768-P2-N831-AR
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Video Card 768-P2-N831-AR

Pros: real nice looking performs well on 3dmark

Cons: what they dont tell you is you need a big processor to run this card i have 2 opteron 875s that are 2.2 gigs each core x4 cores, evga says they are to weak (haha k)and also acroding to evga you need atleast a 2.6 ghz cpu to run this card otherwise you will get low and jumpy fps in game also its temp is at arround 60c acording evga it needs to be at 40-45 wich i do not see unless you have water cooling on it

Overall Review: no matter what video settings you have it at it will run the same fps. DO NOT BUY THIS CARD UNLESS YOU HAVE A 2.6 GHZ CPPU OR HIGHER as i learned the hard way..........

worked great

ASUS K8N-DL Extended ATX Server Motherboard Dual 940 NVIDIA nForce4 Professional
ASUS K8N-DL Extended ATX Server Motherboard Dual 940 NVIDIA nForce4 Professional

Pros: went together easy, easy setup. real fast while it lasted

Cons: 1st off.. everything is cramed, cpu heatsinks are rite on eachother, so its hard to clamp them down, leds and power leds would not lite, no output on bord, if i shut down sometimes by bios would reset, and battery was new, theres a option in bios for mem remaping that kept blue screening when ever i put a load on it, disabled that and ran fine for 2 months, then all h311 broke lose, started blue screening agin so i went to reinstall windows and every time i loaded raid drivers it crashed the install, and yes i tryed new everything with the same prob., so i tryed a reg hd same issue.. theres alot more but ill stop there asus has alot to learn.. i bought a new bord of a differnt brand and no probs at all (supermicro)

Overall Review: hit a 7500 3dmark06 score with 1 7800gt, 6 gigs of ram 2 opteron 875s and 2 raptor 150gigs in raid 0
