Pros: Runs faster than my SSD SATA drive. Improves the boot time by a couple of seconds
Cons: Not compatible with all motherboards.
Doesn't work well with other hard drives.
Not Linux friendly.
No new firmware in a while.
Other Thoughts: I got this because of thought I would see a speed improvement over SATA SSD's but the speed improvement was not very significant. The hassle of installing the drive and maintaining is not worth it. The device consists of 4 55G hard drives which can form a 220G drive in RAID 0. The problem is when I create the RAID, I cannot install an OS on it with other drives connected. Had to disconnect all my SATA drives and then install the OS. I stopped using it as an OS drive after I had to re-image my machine. The added speed is not worth the effort. I wouldn't recommend it.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Intel BOXDQ965GFEKR LGA 775 Intel Q965 Express Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: On-board video, Built-in Raid, DDR2 800, Core 2 Duo compatible, Micro ATX
Cons: POST takes forever. After pressing the power it takes 10-12 seconds just to get video.
Limited memory selection. I bought my RAM from Crucial.com so everything worked right off the bat, but it would have been nice to have the option to use the RAM from my other computer just in case these got hosed.
Other Thoughts: Great product for the price. Bought it along with a Cheap pentium 4. Once the prices on Core Duos drop I'll upgrade to Core 2 Duo.
The I/O shield was missting. This is the second open box motherboard I got from Newegg that's missing the backplate.
They offered to RMA the whole thing because they cant send out I/O shields but that was too much of a hassle.
I decided to buy the I/O shield directly from Intel.
When I told Newegg about it, they credited that amount to my account right away.
Great Customer Service as always
Other Thoughts: It's a nice thing to have. Works good with the external harddrive(for the laptop) and the camera. That 10' legnth comes handy.READ FULL REVIEW
