This review is from: GOgroove BlueSYNC DRM Portable Bluetooth Speaker with aptX Codec, Integrated Microphone and 10 Hour Rechargeable Battery - Works with Apple iPhone 6 / 6 Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 / S5 and More
Pros: small, compact but decent sounding speaker.
Battery seems to be ample.
Will work "always plugged in" like for a bathroom speaker etc...
Makes using speakerphone a breeze with good sound.
Cons: ugly as sin.
bluetooth range - (not sure if it's from the speaker or the phone HTC m8) but it starts cutting out on greater than a few feet line-of-sight.
Other Thoughts: We use this mainly as a shower/bath speaker system but have used it on our boat as well. Works good in both cases.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Polk Audio RM6750 Black 5.1 CH Home Theater Speaker System
Pros: Excellent build quality and craftsmanship.
Cons: Sound quality is ok but nothing to write home about. You get a lot of unexpected distortion and muddy sound at times. I have experienced some clipping at times and the clarity is not as good as expected. Be sure to read the manual about 120hz on the crossover setting and information about setting up the sub-woofer.
Other Thoughts: I am not mad with this purchase and it makes a decent starter setup for the money but hind site I would look at a different setup.
If this is a new setup then you will need to purchase the banana plugs, wiring and any wall mounts or jacks as none of this is included. Your getting just the speakers and nothing more.
This review is from: YAMAHA RX-V573BL 7.1-Channel Network AV Receiver
Pros: Being this was my first receiver I was overwhelmed at first with all the options and how to set this up. After carefully downloading and reading the manual this receiver makes an awesome addition to my living room. It has a lot of bells and whistles.
I have it paired with Item:N82E16882290066 Polk RM6750 5.1 system (from newegg too of course) and the sound is just amazing. This unit includes the microphone which allows the receiver to basically setup itself.
It has more than ample power for my 5.1 setup and the sound and clarity excellent.
Receiver can operate in transparent pass-through mode (no extra cabling required) for the times you want sound on the TV and not the receiver.
Has decent Android app available for controlling or streaming from your phone or tablet.
Cons: The on screen setup/menu mediocre at best. Non-graphical; text based and non-intuitive to a novice just starting in A/V setup. It really gives a very unpolished look and feel to a otherwise quality craftsmanship.
The remote is overwhelming and should only be used for the initial setup. Plan on using a universal remote (such as the Harmony remotes) once the heavy lifting is done.
The included manual and instructions were worthless. Make sure to go on the manufacturers website and download the actual manual before attempting the setup if your new to this kind of stuff.
Online streaming is done once again as text based, non-graphical and very unpolished looking.
Other Thoughts: Overall I am very happy with this purchase and feel I got a good price on a good mid range receiver.READ FULL REVIEW
