StarTech PATA2SATA3 Bi-directional adapter converts IDE to SATA or SATA to IDE
  • Verified Owner

Pros: None

Cons: With this item installed per the included instructions, my IDE HD remained invisible in W7. Ended up using a PCI-E controller card purchased locally, which worked as advertised.

5 out of 5 eggs Excellent monitor... 03/14/2007

This review is from: ViewSonic X Series VX922 Black-Silver 19" 2ms LCD Monitor 270 cd/m2 650:1

Pros: so far. The 2ms response time is what grabbed my attention. Picture is clear, sharp and nice. No dead pixels. Good replacement for my recently deceased Gateway CRT monitor.

Cons: None. A few folks have complained that the support was flimsy, but I have no such complaint. There's no height adjustment, but I'm okay with that, too.

Other Thoughts: I'm probably among the last of the CRT diehards, but I do like the VX922. Gameplay is smooth with no ghosting. Picture quality is excellent at the native resolution of 1280x1024.

Pros: I hadn't used Kingston RAM before, but I'm pretty happy with this stuff. Got two gigs worth in my gaming box. Originally intended on buying Corsair, mostly for the EPPs, but saw way too many Newegg reports of dead-on-arrival sticks. Just as well, turns out my 570-based board doesn't support EPPs.

Cons: When I first booted with this RAM aboard, CPU-Z reported that it was running at 371Mhz, rather than 400. Odd, but not a problem. Just added 15Mhz to the HTT, boosted the vdimm to 2.0 and adjusted the RAM seetings to 4-4-4-13. No sweat.
