This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm
Pros: Keep things cool, quiet fans if Corsair Link stays working. One of the best performance coolers for gamers out there.
Cons: Again, Corsair Link needs fixing. Saved all settings to a profile, then several reboots later, new fans started showing up and existing fans that I had placed onto the pic of inside of machine started showing zero speed. Tried to delete profile and start all over, it just eventually loses your custom settings so don't think you can go back in after you have configured this your way. And after my last experience, I don't dare firmware to update itself.
Other Thoughts: This is an update to a previous post that Corsair would only RMA to me a refurb unit after I purchased this NEW from N.E. - Corsair appends to my posting that if I bought a new unit, I would be RMA'ed a NEW unit - this is INCORRECT. Your own TECH told me that new units were out of stock and not available for 3 weeks, so if I wanted one NOW that I would have to take a refurb, which IS WHAT I GOT. - Corsair needs to stop making corrections which are untrue and are not based on the facts that I relayed and are provable by my own ticket number. Summary: Until more stock comes in, IF you RMA a unit due to a Corsair Link firmware update trashing your unit, you MAY GET a refurb if that's all they have at the time. Corsair stop appending untrue comment to mine.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: You must need to buy WD Black in order to get quality packaging. For two drives they used individual boxes, with actual drive shipping containers, the drives themselves surrounded with extra thick padding. I'm used to flimsy drive packaging, but I hope this is a sign that NE wants to get the drives to you safely now and in the future.
Well what else, it's WD Black with 5 year warranty, we know why we buy it. It does run a little hot particularly in a raid array.
Cons: Price, but as usual - coming down. You are paying for that extra two years warranty.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2 AM3+ AMD 760G + SB710 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Works as it should, relatively fast - lots of options in BIOS. And as I have come to expect, great Gigabyte quality.
Cons: Get used to the Gigabyte web site to download the manual if you need it. You only get a leaflet with the most basic of documentation. They dont even explode out the front switch panel settings jumper block for you. You do get the CD-ROM of drivers. Presumably the manual is there. I guess this is to reduce costs by not providing a printed manual.
Other Thoughts: You also get 2 sata cables and the case backplane I/O shield. Read before you buy, this is the most basic of motherboards and does not have USB3 or the faster 6 GB SATA. This is barebones and also not current technology. This has very specific purposes.READ FULL REVIEW
