Good hardware/software bundle for drive cloning.
They run fairly cool
Other Thoughts: I have used 3 of these drives (840 Pro) so far, and they have all been outstanding! I have done fresh installs, as well as used the including cloning software, which works like a dream.
These are excellend SSD drives, I would recommend them to anyone.
This review is from: XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler LGA1150 Haswell Compatible
Pros: Nice size heat pipes
Cons: Installation was far more difficult than need be.
It BARELY fits inside of a full-size case.
Other Thoughts: This is the first Xigmatek heat sink that I have used, and it will probably be my last. The installation of the heat sink is very poorly designed. I put a CoolerMaster heat sink on another i5 system in at least half the time of this one. the thumbscrews to hold the heat sink to the backing plate are difficult to reach with the MB out of the case, I can only imagine what they'd be like with the MB installed in the case.
This heat sink BARELY fit in my case. There is maybe 1/32nd of an inch between the tips of the heat pipes to the case cover.
The aluminum fins also move a lot, and I thought that the top one was very loose.
There is also a decent amount of vibration from the fan, but it has rubber mounts to the heat sink, so it's not a problem.
This review is from: ASUS Z87-A LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Easy to install
Easy to overclock, nice UEFI layout
Cons: UPDATE THE BIOS!!!! I built a system and every time that I installed the USB 3.0 drivers from their disc, the system would blue screen. I had to update the BIOS to 1707, and pull the drivers from Intel, now I don't have any blue screen issues.
Other Thoughts: For the money, the MSI Z87-G55 would be my choice. I built two systems, one with each board, and the MSI has been rock solid. The BIOS issue mentioned above is a huge hit on ASUS for me, and I had been an ASUS fan for a long time.
The UEFI BIOS is laid out very nice, and it's very easy to OC the system.
