Pros: Natural looking colors (but limited gamut) WITHOUT the need for any color calibration/adjustment. Very natural grey levels across almost the whole screen. Smooth tonal gradation. Convincing blacks and specula highlights. Shadow details looks better then my 5 yrs old Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP.
To my eyes, 1080 HD TV on this monitor (with all smudge filters in driver off) is better then most $1K LCD TVs.
Cons: At the sales price, none of the cons here is a deal breaker.
Color gamut is limited (white LEDs limits?). Cannot display vivid reds and greens to the level of the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP but somehow manage smooth, natural grey levels. Very convincing lavender.
Yellow is a little problematic. A yellow balloon (Macy's parade) looks orange-yellow in the shadows and greenish-yellow in a narrow mid-level band. Most of the time, the tone shifts in yellow is 'euphonic'
Other Thoughts: I believe the smooth tonal gradation I noticed is the result of good factory 'native' color calibration (vs. PC side color calibration/compensation). So this is the 1st monitor that I will NOT apply any color calibration.READ FULL REVIEW
