Pros: This is a solidly constructed, business-grade laptop. If you have seen how cheaply made these new $400-500 laptops are, you will appreciate the quality built into this machine.
The laptop is for my 14 year old son, and will be great for that purpose. It's a big bonus that it come with the docking station that has a DVI output.
Cons: Comes with minimum configuration of RAM and hard drive, but what do you expect for $224?READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: - Low cost/good performance.
- Silent operation.
- Small form factor.
- Takes standard CD/DVD-Rom drives.
- Takes 3.5” hard drives.
Cons: - No DVI port
- 2Gb max RAM
- No dual-core, only hyperthreading.
Other Thoughts: I purchased this system for use as a gateway RDP/Backup box. I have Windows Server 2003 Standard, 2Gb RAM, and a 1Tb hard drive installed on it. With shipping, the total hardware outlay was $425.00.
As far as I’m concerned, this box is a home run. It backs up three other servers, including weekly drive imaging for each server. The images are archived using WinRar in a batch file, and transferred to 2.5” USB drives for off-site storage. The box is mounted on the wall, next to the server rack.
I would deploy this box as a workstation, if it had a DVI port.
