Pros: Nice Modular design
Cons: unit failed without warning after 1 year. Avg load was 20-35% in a file server. Pretty poor life in a non-gaming application. I expected a great deal more for the price.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Nice modular cables.
Cons: Unit failed after 1 yr of service @ 20-35% average load. Ambient never exceeded 90degF. Not Acceptable for such a high priced unit.
Cables are not very flexible for such an expensive unit
This review is from: Intel RAID Twenty-four port Expander Card RES2SV240
Pros: Unit worked as expected...very fast, no drama. 3 stars for quick failure...would have give lower, but it works so dang well...hoping my failure was just a fluke.
Cons: Units runs hot. Failed after 2-3 months usage. Seeking RMA. This is even after I installed a small fan blowing on the heatsink to ensure adequte airflow.
Other Thoughts: Using on a Windows server with LIS 6870-4i card to increase the number of ports. Running 8 drive RAID 6 array (does not include 2 hot swap drives) - heavy/near constant IO. Also running online backup with 4 drive RAID 5 array. Offline backup of 3TB drives. Users are media editors. Power supply is 700W unit. 16GB ram, i5 processor.READ FULL REVIEW
