Good for the price

XFX Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card HD-577A-ZNFC
XFX Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card HD-577A-ZNFC

Pros: Good performance in FSX Direct X 11 compatible It has enough room to overclock well The fan is GENERALLY quiet. Runs relatively cool even when overclocked Absolutely no issues with windows 7 (when updated drivers are used: see other thoughts) Double lifetime warrenty

Cons: Anything over 50% and the fan sounds like a vacuum lol Not really a 'con' considering its only going to go that high when playing alot of games (which would drown out the sound easy)

Overall Review: I got this to replace my 9800 GT, this is my first ATi card in years and I must say they have done well. The performance increase I got from my old 9800 was generally minimal but noticeable. I heard (from online reviews) that two of these in crossfire would be equal to or greater than the 5870. I'm definitely going to be picking up another one by the end of this week. Specs AMD 955 3.2 ghz(stock) ddr2 4 gbs 800 mhz memory 1000w psu.

Not that big of a difference

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 125W Processor - HDZ955FBGIBOX

Pros: It worked fine, Overclocked easy, Quad core, I did see an improvement in my FSX gaming

Cons: The stock fan is loud and insufficient. I almost never complain about sound but it is annoying. Its an intermittent noise most of the time.

Overall Review: This replaced my 6400+ cpu and honestly, when it comes to alot of stuff, there really isn't a big difference. It scored 1 point higher in the Windows Experience Index (from 6.3 - 7.3). I think I should've waited and spent the extra dough on an i7. I was really expecting a big difference but came up short. But let me not blame the processor too much. My motherboard should share most of the blame considering it was only giving me 800mhz per core!(vs 3.2 ghz stock) Had to do a bios update on a recently released motherboard just to get my speed. Overall, I'm 60% satisfied with the purchas; its enough for me to keep it, but not enough for me to really be WOWed. Its not bad at all

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ - Athlon 64 X2 Windsor Dual-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM2 125W Processor - ADX6400CZBOX

Pros: Its very fast

Cons: it can run very hot. Stock cooling isn't enough or its extremely loud

Overall Review: I recently sold mine on a *user auction site* to upgrade to get money for my new phenom 955. If you're looking for a fast processor with a low price, this is it. I have had it for more than a year and I strongly recommend it.

Silent...

Scythe MUGEN-2 SCMG-2000 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler
Scythe MUGEN-2 SCMG-2000 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler

Pros: Nice price Can work very effectively without a fan. VERY quiet - Thats a big pro to me. Works better than stock cooling when CPU is on idle... Stock idle temp- 50 degrees Mugen idle temp- 45 degrees

Cons: 1) Big, but this should go without saying. 2) Installation requires you to take out your motherboard. Its expected but still a pain. 3) Its worst than stock cooling when CPU is under load. Stock load temp- 59 degrees Mugen- 66 degrees 4) Directions are not clear. (but its not rocket science, very easy to figure out)

Overall Review: If you're buying this because you need something better than stock at cooling then you're going to be disappointed. This offers similar cooling as stock BUT MUCH quieter, which is why I got it..so I'm satisfied with that.. It would've gotten 5 eggs if it were better at cooling than stock, but its just quieter. Simulation fail.

Need for Speed: Shift PC Game
Need for Speed: Shift PC Game

Pros: The graphics are nice.

Cons: Where Do I begin? No mouse support...further proof that they just RUSHED the game out there without going thru any type of quality control. They fixed it with a patch but it should've been implemented in the game from the getgo. Then there are the bugs. This game is ridiculously stupid. You touch sand and it seems like time is starting and stopping; the game gets VERY choppy. This is from just TOUGHING sand or anything off road. Then there are the tracks. Nothing but the same thing over and over from previous NFS games. Redesigned to make it even more stupid. Drift races are completely stupid. I don't know who is the idiot that thought having the manufacture alter the car so much that driving is impossible. You spin out when you accelerate, thats all well and good except you need to be going a certain speed to start a drift. There are MANY more bugs, including the black night. Sometimes, it seems like you're racing in the dark but its actually just a bug. I'm running out o

Overall Review: In short- they rushed this game out into production. Its completely evident from playing this game. Of course all games have bugs but when you're a billion dollar company like Electronic Arts, you shouldn't have this many. You should already know that you're held to a higher standard. They were trying to do a simulation and failed miserably, this will certainly make me think twice before buying a need for speed game in the future. I would not recommend this game to anyone that has played a need for speed game in the past because you'd be let down by this product. This is good for n00bs who are new to gaming. not bad.

SPARKLE Calibre Series P980 GeForce 9800 GT OC Dual Fly 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
SPARKLE Calibre Series P980 GeForce 9800 GT OC Dual Fly 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: Runs relatively cool, good performance (considering price) looks nice

Cons: if you have an ECS or Micro ATX motherboard do not buy this card. 99% of the time, it just will not fit. Also, if you have an old LCD monitor that uses DVI (old monitors often have poor EDID) Do not buy this card. you will still get the vista "blank screen" after boot problem. the only way around this is if your monitor can also be attached via VGA.

Overall Review: This is only a midway upgrade card. don't expect the best. I upgraded from my 7600 GT card and it is alot better but in some ways not as good as I thought it would be (given the specs.)
