This review is from: LG N2R1DD2 1TB x 2 (3.5", 7,200rpm) Super Multi NAS with DVD-RW
Pros: One box, self contained NAS and DVD burner. Easy setup.
Cons: Terrible manual, slower than expected write times. Clunky software.
Other Thoughts: I'm using this as a Raid 1, file storage, server for a photography business. Editing files in Lightroom 3 is quick enough, exporting to or downloading to is tedious. Can't configure USB port or card reader to perform any function but "backup" meaning each memory card inserted overwrites the previous backup image. DVD burner has not burned a coaster yet, and burn times are good. I import my 10-17 MP raw files, over night and have LR render standard previews which seems to help render times in editing. Overall it does exactly what I wanted it to, and speed is OK through a wireless router if not stellar.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Canon EOS 40D Black 10.1 MP Digital SLR Camera - Body Only
Pros: Live view, good resolution, priced well against competition, dust features, 14 bit DA gives better gradiation that previous models, BIG LCD, Quieter shutter.
Cons: No contrast detection AF in live view (to use AF the mirror has to swing down and the LCD goes black during focussing) A bit heavier than the 20 or 30D, LCD is nice and big, and very clear, but it does not seem that accurate, color seems a bit cool, highlight priority function bumps lowest ISO from 100 to 200 and seems to adversely affect WB. Auto WB no where NEAR as accurate as Nikon D300.
Other Thoughts: I'm a pro wedding photog. I own a 20D, 30D and now a 40D. It is a great camera, but Canon is now officially behind Nikon in the arms race for this level of camera. The D300 shows up this cam on almost every level but the 40D is priced well. If I didn't have 4000 dollar invested in Canon mount glass, I might consider switching to Nikon...on second thought...nah I love my Canon.READ FULL REVIEW
