This review is from: Logitech Gray 985-000227 Ultimate Ears 200 Noise Isolating Earphones
Pros: They were $9.00. They do a good job of isolating external sound. I would give them a 4 for this. Music clarity is good, 4 on this also.
Cons: These are basically worth 3 eggs. They are really average headphones, good for $9.00 not worth more. The base is tinny, the sound weak and lacking depth and foundation with a poor resolution over the range of frequencies. All of it on par with headphones worth less than $20. If I had paid full price and shipping, I would be mad. I compared them with a $15 pair of Sony in-ear headphones and the in-ear Sansa headphones that came with my Fuze. I tried them with everything from blues to hard rock to symphonic music with a lot of base, piano, violin etc. I played music I like and am very familiar with, switching headphones without any additional adjustment. Really these are average headphones that let one down on the base and depth of sound. Surprisingly, the headphones that came with my Fuze blow most sub-$60 headphones away. This was no exception. I used my Fuze with 320kbs or better mp3s for comparison.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: A solid 4.5 eggs for price and performance. Hey it is a hard drive, what can you say. I've got a couple of Western Digital 1TB Caviar Greens and had problems with one. I'll stick with Seagate.
I put things I want to keep on this drive. Weekly scans with SeaTools and some other Hard drive tools and no problems so far. Purchased in Sept '09
Cons: None. Plug it in and away it goes.
Other Thoughts: I can't believe how cheap I got this drive.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Solid 3 eggs, but sector issues with one drive broke an egg.
Big drive, small price. Not unsatisfied with performance. I ordered two of these one in March & the other in April '09. I am mixed on trusting them so far.
I had one drive just disappear from Windows explorer and when I investigated, it was the second 1TB that had bad sectors. Why the good drive was affected, I don't know.
I offloaded the drive contents, scanned with Seagate's SeaTools and found bad sectors. I downloaded Western Digital's Windows and DOS tools. Ran the windows version and then created a boot usb drive and ran the DOS version.
Unlike mfg tools of before, Western Digital's DOS repair was still picking up the bad sectors after a repair. Used to be a mfg low level scan updated the drive sector table and took the bad sectors out of service. If you reran the tool, the former bad sectors would not still be reported as bad. So I don't know. The windows tool still reports the sectors as bad.
Cons: Download at least the windows version of Western Digital's tools and run it weekly to check your drive. You could use a hard drive monitor, but these typically only monitor the SMART status. I never got any warnings from SMART. Expected since a sector issue.
I don't put anything I really value on these drives since it is hard to backup a TB or a few in my case.
Other Thoughts: If you can get them for <$85, worth it. Otherwise, I'd wait or maybe get the intro Seagate.READ FULL REVIEW
