Pros: Performs as advertised. I installed Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Remix (UNR), and everything worked out of the box. I get about 6 hours battery life with moderately heavy usage.
Cons: It came with an outdated BIOS. It was necessary to update to the latest rev before the CORSAIR 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) upgrade would work.
Other Thoughts: Windows 7 Starter is trash, I never even booted it up.
It is a good idea to install the Linux wireless backports modules to prevent the wireless connection from sometimes dropping.
Pros: The specs looked good.
Cons: The keyboard & mouse freeze up at least twice per day. The webcam was installed upside down.
Other Thoughts: I installed Kubuntu 9.10 w/backports modules, and everything worked out of the box, except for the upside-down webcam, but there is a Video For Linux work-around for that.
The main problem is that it completely locks up randomly, a hard power reset is required. I'm a long time Linux developer, and this does not look like a graphics driver bug, it looks like a hardware or mfg issue.
You probably want to stay away from this one.
Pros: Great little machine. I built Kubuntu 9.10 on it right out of th box, didn't even boot into Vista (blowing away a brand new, never been used Windows distribution is *such* a good feeling!)
Everything just works.
Cons: It came with (ugh) Vista.
Other Thoughts: Excellent machine, great price.READ FULL REVIEW
