4 out of 5 eggs Great! 04/07/2014

This review is from: powercom KIN-1000AP 1000 VA 600 Watts 5 Outlets UPS

Pros: I've unlpugged the power cord and it kept the power on. Had an iMac, two sets of speakers, several hard drives, and and some other gear hooked up.

Good price too.

The outlets on the back are accessable and the extra outlet (not backed up) is a nice feature.

Cons: The power switch on the back needs to be recessed or harder to switch. I accidentally bumped the switch and cut power to everything.

Also, an indicator estimating the charge on the battery would be nice. Or a USB connection to the computer instead of the VGA connector in the back.

Pros: Nice look. I like the flat design. The hub is excellent. Worked great for 10 months. iOmega website keeps track of serial # for warranty service.

Cons: Failed in the 10th month of use.

I went the iomega website for the first time today. The contact page is confusing to navigate. When I found the chat one-on-one link it said it is temporarilly unavailable. The website says they charge you $25 for phone support - not doing that! So will try to contact by chat tomorrow.

Other Thoughts: I almost bought another to replace this broken drive to complement my working two iOmega drives, but decided to go with a Western Digital 1.5 TB drive.
