Pros: Light weight, looks cool. usb and esata do work.
Cons: power adapter fail. I needed to run this as an esata external drive without usb power available. So, I bought the power adapters on secondary market that were advertised to work with the device. They were awful.
So, It would have been really nice if Vantec would produce reliable power adapters that shipped with this enclosure.
Other Thoughts: I boot into linux using external hard drives from various hardware at various office locations. The machines have esata ports but may not have enough available usb ports to supply power. I was hoping this encasement would provide a cheap and lightweight replacement for a couple enclosures I bought a few years ago that began to fail. However, Vantec did not have a power adapter for it and I bought a compaible one on the secondary market. It was awful. So, my overall rating for is minus a star for the devide having a power input, but no power supply that could supply stable powerREAD FULL REVIEW
