This review is from: Onkyo HT-RC560 7.2-Channel Network AV Receiver
Pros: Price, scored it on sale for 299.99 from NewEgg
For the price point, far more inputs than competitors.
Bluetooth and wifi connectivity
Quick New Egg shipping, paid 9.99 for 2 day express and got it on one day.
Cons: Set up can be somewhat difficult and not always intuitive
Other Thoughts: Not sure about all the negative reviews on this or Onkyo. Granted i bought my first Onkyo, and the one this one replaces back in '04-'05. It was/is a great receiver. I only replaced it becuase i got such a great deal on this unit and did want to upgrade to modern tech, such as wifi and bluetooth. Finally have it all set up, every thing works as advertised. My router is only about 25 feet away, but it's connected, without difficulty i might add, and has 96% signal. Some of the HDMI set up was difficult, had some trouble with PCM and HDMI surround from my Roku, but once I found the setting to shut off forced PCM everything works great. Highly recommend this receiver. Looking forward to 10 years with this one.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: BUFFALO AirStation HighPower N300 Gigabit Wireless Router - WZR-HP-G300NH
Pros: Easy first time set up - wireless was up and running right out of the box
No issues reassigning SSID or password
Using stock firmware, may change to Tomato after more research
Cons: NAS Set up was not all that clear in the instructions, but once the drive was re-formatted (previously NTFS), and I realized the USB drive had to first be mapped to my laptop over the wired LAN, not wireless LAN, all is well. No mention of this in the provided set up manual.
Other Thoughts: Instructions for NAS could be better, firmware update required 2 reboots to re-establish an internet connection with my Charter Internet connection.READ FULL REVIEW
