Pros: Aside from the lack of an optical drive, the specs on this super-cheap system are pretty astounding. Quad-core machine for less than what most dual-core machines cost. Unless you're a hardcore gamer or a content creator (think video and photo editing and such), you can't go wrong here.
I'd go so far as to say that if you're in the market for a normal 15.6" laptop, and won't absolutely die without the optical drive, you're kind of a moron if you buy something else. For 99% of the people on the planet, this is more machine than they can actually use...and it's actually capable of playing some games...just be aware you'll be running some games at lower settings. Infinitely better than anything you'd get with Intel Inside though.
Cons: This thing comes pre-loaded with a mind-blowing amount of bloatware...be ready spend half an hour just uninstalling the (stuff that comes out the south end of a north-facing bull).
Note that apparently it's against Newegg policy to post "Bee Ess" as it would normally be shown as a two-letter acronym. The more you know!
Other Thoughts: Not having the optical drive will probably become a PITA at some point...but for the cash saved by buying this unit and it's impressive performance, it's worth giving it up. You can always install one later, or just buy a USB unit to keep around for when you need it.READ FULL REVIEW
Cons: see last post
Other Thoughts: Yeah, and now that I go to do the RMA, they'd only refund the $12 price of the mouse, not the $3 in shipping. And then they want $10 for the UPS label. So...no.
Enjoy my twelve bucks. So happy to have been able to donate it to you.
Cons: Doesn't function. Would not recognize and/or pair with the reciever. Tried on multiple machines and with different sets of batteries.
Too bad I can't give zero stars. The product is a complete failure.
Other Thoughts: Not sure it's worth the bother to return because of the value. Probably just out $15.READ FULL REVIEW
