This review is from: BIOSTAR TZ68A+ LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Nice feature set.
Cons: Longevity is in question
Other Thoughts: After 18 months the PC would simply randomly lockup. I suspected a heat related issue, so we pulled the CPU & GPU coolers and new Artic 5 thermal past. No change. Seems to be associated with the USB ports in some way. This happened to a couple of P35 Gigabtye boards to me a couple years ago.
Unfortunately it is always difficult to troubleshoot an intermittent problem. I'll replace the board, as I'm 99% certain that is where the problem lies.
This review is from: Acer X233HZBD Black 23.6" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ACM 40000:1(1000:1)
Pros: Good Value, DVI cable included, no dead pixels on 3 monitors ordered. All 3 have consistent color and brightness. VESA mounting option was required and the X233 have it. I'm using these 3 monitors side-by-side, so the consistency is important to me. Previous, I had 2 Acer 22" monitors bought at different times and they would not match regardless of the hours of tweaking. I've been using Acer LCDs for several years now and they have been very reliable and I cant remember ever having a dead pixel with one.
Cons: HDMI for future proofing would have been nice. Biggest Con that I've had with all ACER monitors is color calibration. I'm in the graphics industry, and often look at customer art files online and then see the actual printed products (catalogs, flyers, posters, brochures). The Acers are just too bright and especially the blues and browns are not even close to accurate. I'd like to see better controls for calibrating and an accurate software calibration utility included.
Other Thoughts: Overall, I am still happy.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ZOTAC GF8200-D-E AM3/AM2+ NVIDIA GeForce 8200 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Purchased for a rebuild of my mother's PC. Good value with the package deal. Put in Athlon II 245 and 2GB DDR1066 all at stock/default values. Booted and installed XP quickly and no problems. Everything works. I am a happy camper.
Cons: This was my 1st Zotac. Packaged with only the basics, but that was fine.READ FULL REVIEW
