This review is from: ASUS M3N78-VM AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 8200 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: While I loved the Asus brand for years now. I am sorrowly disappointed by this board! I was trying to build a Video Relay Service machine for a friend who is starting a company that does sign language interpretation. and being an upstart everything must be on a budget. while it has 5 SATA ports dont attempt to install Vista x64 without having to jump through some hoops. at first the board would recognize the two Seagate barracuda 320GB HDD for a striped array. then once i got the board to see them, vista's install wouldnt format them. after three evenings spent bouncing from this possibility to that, i broke down and called Asus Techline. while they were helpful it still took and hour to get everything to work together. running now it is promising, but we'll see. All three vid connections right on the board. HDMI, DVI, D-sub. Hybrid SLI is sweet too! dont need to drop more for two Cards!
Cons: First arrival was DOA. Second arrival- packaging looked like it went through a demolition derby! And Newegg has gotten to be quite poor at packaging. the second board arrived with both ends crushed in like an accordian and when i opened the box i found that the manufacturer box was dented also. the box was packed by just laying the mother board on top of some wadded up packing paper. nothing on top or sides to protect the delicate components inside! bad form newegg! i was ashamed to have praised you soo much and then be let down so easily. Packaging used to be a very strong selling point for new egg. foam peanuts or airbags. but wadded up brown paper???moving on. Other than obvious connectivity issues, i would say that the board is lacking a board speaker or some way to diagnose issues.
Other Thoughts: I still love the Asus boards that i have and will continue to purchase the Pro series of motherboards. I am still running a mother board from 1999. non-stop for ten years. and hard at work it is!

Pros: Great card for the price. Silent! did run rather hot, but i was trying to push it too hard! I like the three options for outputs, D-sub, DVI, and S-Video. all perform well. only scored a 5.0 on windows test. everything else on my build scored a 5.9 so i'll be looking to upgrade soon.
Cons: Had to RMA within 3 months. powered up and blank screen not even a blue screen just nothing on any output. but Newegg stands by everything so i'll be waiting for the replacement and look for a more powerful card for the future.
Other Thoughts: while i like the silence, the heat build-up is kind of disturbing, would rather be able to screw a fan onto it. but like everything in life... spend a little more now and save the aspirin for the caffeine withdrawl!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Speed Speed Speed!!! What can i say these drive's are workhorses!!! You can load them up and work them hard all the time! I am constantly moving huge files around from drive to drive and the data transfer is amazing. It is quiet and cool. I have two in my build and they perform flawlessly. Either drive will push data to my OS raid faster than the two standard sata WD 250's can shuffle.
Cons: None for now. would really like the OEM to at least come with a sata cable:( but i cant complain for the price!!
Other Thoughts: I have been told that Seagates are better performers but i have used WD's for a long time and I am always impressed by the longevity of these drives. I am still using the first WD 250 IDE drive in my Toolbox build and that is ten years old and i used it for everything from gaming to file storage. WD Forever!!!READ FULL REVIEW
