works
Pros: works at high speeds
Cons: i have personally never liked the tab protector that most new ethernet cords come with, because they are usually stiff and is tricky to unplug them in a tight spot.
Overall Review: got a good deal on it and was time for an upgrade to cat6 anyway.
Problems with connection
Pros: This is a really nice design. The fan is great to have. Very easy to install a HDD.
Cons: When I first switch it on, both the top and bottom LEDs come on. Windows then makes the sound for sensing something got plugged in. A few seconds to a few minutes later, Windows then makes the "unplugged" sound, and the bottom LED turns off, indicating that there is no activity whatsoever with the drive. This happens on every one of my 4 computers I have. It is basically a craps shoot for whether the drive is going to be recognized when I hit the switch on. Sometimes it is the first, second, and even up to four times of power toggling to get it to be recognized. I have tried other drives inside this enclosure to make sure that this was limited to the enclosure itself. I have also tried it on multiple computers, restarts of those computers, with Windows AND Linux, and the same problem occurs. I'm not sure what to do here, because it is very inconvenient to have to play the lottery when trying to turn this thing on. With the amount of reviews that this product has on Newegg, I would think this would have been worth it, but I am very disappointed.
Overall Review: I am a couple weeks past Newegg's 30-day return policy so I'm not sure what to do now. I have bought plenty of Rosewill products in the past with no problems whatsoever, and this is the first time I have had a bad experience with the quality of their stuff. It would be cool if this could be replaced with one that works.
Great sounding and looking
Pros: These speakers sound way better (obviously) than the cheap wally world bought stereo-set bookshelf speakers that I was using before. They are incredibly crisp and the bottom speaker provide wonderful lows. I have this running with a Sony subwoofer, and as unfortunate as it is that I live in an apartment, I cannot use this setup as loud as I want to, but sounds excellent at lower volumes. Price. Bought for $79.99 on a shell shocker. This is a no-brainer. I would probably even spend up to $100 on these based on the insane reviews for this. Read any review on here or on the site that names itself after a river in South America, and unending praise will be evident. If you are looking for higher quality speakers and don't want to give up your first born for studio quality, these are what you want. The flawless finish of the way mine were pulled out of the box makes my desk look amazing.
Cons: None. I do not have a professional ear when it comes to sound, but I do hear enough to know these speakers do not disappoint.
Overall Review: My PC runs an optical cord out to a receiver which uses 4 feet of 18 gauge wire to connect to these speakers. Listen to some Dream Theater on these and you will hear more than you have before.
