This review is from: Patriot Xporter Xpress 32GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model PSF32GXPXUSB
Pros: Not a bad price and a good metal body. Technical support is very fast and good @ what they do. See other thoughts for the complete story.
Cons: This drive has very low write speeds - I tested it on multiple PC's and it averaged only about 2.5mbps write speed. The first drive i received failed out during the initial file transfer - I RMA'd it and received a new one... that worked for all of 10 mins before doing the same thing. Patriot Technical support was helpful and the problem was resolved w/o another RMA.
Other Thoughts: Ok, I see a lot of people had the exact same issue I did - really slow, Transfers failing, & the drive not being detected. After I received my second bad drive - I contacted Patriot directly. Their support responded within an hour. They have a tool that is available when you open a support ticket, that low level formats the drive and fixes the issues! It's still slow - about 2.5mbps write speed - but it completed multiple 20gb transfers flawlessly. I'll update this if circumstances change.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Inexpensive, well made, charges from USB, simple firmware upgrade to 4.0, & excellent warranty service (more on this in the other thoughts).
Cons: The wall A/C charger is the 2.5mm pin style. These break really easily on a well made charger. The wall unit that comes with these isn't particularly well made. That said - it takes a cheap USB charger and works great!
Other Thoughts: Through Newegg and other sources we have over 125 of these units in service currently. Of those purchased we had 5 DOA and 2 more where the screen went blue (no other colors). That's like a 6% fail rate - for an (now) $80 tablet. In every instance the manufacturer repaired/replaced every unit - no questions asked.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fast - seriously fast - almost never a paper jam.
Cons: of a possible 10 purchased (newegg and other sources) I have 6 dead units. They all have the same error (ADF lamp failure). The bad part is there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the ADF lamp itself. I'm currently attempting to RMA these for repair.
Other Thoughts: Technical support was really quick to respond initially but I haven't heard from them after I sent my serial numbers. These units are great when they work; its just that they have a crazy high fail rate. I wouldn't suggest buying these overpriced units to anyone.READ FULL REVIEW
