Pros: Fast, good range. Open source firmware ( thank goodness)
Overall happy with it
Cons: Worked great for a while. It prompted me to update the firmware so I did due to a security risk. Then I had problems with the router loosing connectivity to the internet. Others appeared to have the same issue
I installed the "Merlin" open source firmware and the problems with connectivity vanished. I'm sticking with the Merlin for now.
Merlin looks exactly like the ASUS firmware except with some fixes and added security and a few features.
Other Thoughts: Asus has released an update that supposedly corrects the disconnects but I haven't tried it yet because Merlin is stable. Over 30 days uptime. (Asus should hire him to work on their software the guy knows his stuff)
They should more thoroughly test their firmware before prompting people to update.
Pros: cheap, 3 year warranty
Cons: I have 2 of these. 1 had failed immediately within days of installing it. NewEgg RMA'd it no problem. The second drive has now failed at 10 months of use (as a secondary drive I installed some games to). Not even heavy use.
Starting to worry about loosing my OS drive again. What a hassle. I may replace the first one given the track record.
Other Thoughts: 2 of 3 failed within a year. Not good
Their tech support was prompt and has given me an RMA to send the failed one back. Thankfully they have a 3 year warranty.
Cons: Failed after 1 day taking all my data with it...
Other Thoughts: Bought it because I was running out of space for my flight sims moved several sims over to it and it died a day later..READ FULL REVIEW
