Pros: The specs are great and it looks great on paper.
Cons: I purchased this device because of it's supposed ability to connect to network drives and bring content to the living room. I spend several hours working with this device attempting to get it to connect. Windows shares showed up quickly but I had problems getting any further than simply seeing that they were available. Linux shares where most of my content is stored wouldn't even show up at first. Then later I found my samba shares under the window shares. I did finally get connected on my test bench. I then moved to my living room to see how it would work. Nothing.... I tried to repeat what I had done and I couldn't get anything. The device seemed flaky at best it was very slow to complete commands. I read a lot of reviews on this device and they made it sound great. I wonder how many of them actually attempted to use the device. I am sure if all you want is netflix it might work.
Other Thoughts: Another thing I tried was to set up a DLNA server and I was able to find the media, but again when I moved the device I couldn't reconnect to the service. Perhaps if I had left it sitting over night again they may have shown up. Looking up problems with the device I found a lot of issues with not staying connected so I don't think my device was a aberration but the norm. I wanted this for my parents for something simple they could use. It was certainly not that.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Seems like a great little system for the price. The processor is fan less with a large heat sink. The case fan ramps up as needed for additional cooling.
Cons: The case fan when ramped up is a little noisy not bad though
Other Thoughts: I used this for a headless home server using ubuntu 10.4 server. No problems with setup and operation. This system only has a 10/100 built in nic. It has two PCI/e 1x and one PCI/e 4x slots. I am going to install an intel gigabit nic card to get the speed up.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Looks good. I am sure it's a good power supply but the one I got was DOA
Cons: It was DOA
Other Thoughts: Purchased this on sale for $30 with free shipping. Then it never turned on. Started to RMA it but shipping is going to be about $18. I haven't had a chance to see if I could find a less expensive way to ship it back yet. Spent the $18 on a little cheapy from Micro Center and got the system going for now.READ FULL REVIEW
