Pros: 1. The boot time is really fast, only takes 2 seconds from start to desktop.
2. Able to run games at a low resolution without problems.
3. Really light, easy to carry around in an backpack or by hand without stress.
4. Keyboard doesn't stick to my fingers when typing.
5. A niche ultrabook that I can use to take notes in class or at work.
So why 2 eggs only (look below)?
Cons: A little over a year of owning my unit, I had to ship this computer three times because of battery related problems. I bought my unit at full price ($1600) of March 2013.
The first work order, in November 2013, Acer did a factory reset and said there were no further problems.
Two weeks later, I had to bring it in again because the computer wouldn't stay on without the AC adapter. Acer responded to the second work order by "refitting" the battery.
Now we forward to the beginning of May where I had to return it again for a third time to have the battery checked again because my unit wouldn't run on battery power. Acer responded by replacing the battery (finally).
Each of these work orders took a little over a month before I could get my computer back. Even though I owned this unit for a little over a year, I only had about 10 months usage. I am currently still waiting after a month to get my laptop repaired again.
Other Thoughts: For a laptop of a high caliber, I expected more from Acer. I shouldn't have to send my laptop in on an average of every 4 months at the cost I bought it. Luckily I bought a two-year warranty, so I do not have to pay 70 dollars every time I send my computer in.
Every time I send my unit in for repairs, my configuration for the laptop is always reset back to factory settings, meaning I have to reconfiguration/re-personalize my laptop every time.
Hence the title "Too Pricey Too Many Headaches".
This review is from: Creative Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage USB Connector Circumaural Gaming Headset
Pros: This headset was really nice. Crystal clear and great surround sound. The wireless aspect was really nice to have when playing music or videos and not be constrained to my desk if I needed to get something in the other room.
Cons: For a ninety dollar headset, I expected for the headset to last longer than a year. I bought this headset nine days into January of this year; four months in, the headset started to freeze or lock up time to time whenever I wake up my computer from sleep. As of today, the headset won't function properly anymore and continues to freeze whenever I try to charge it or attempt to update the firmware. Whenever the headset freezes, I cannot power off or change the volume on the headset. I have to let the battery die before I can get it to work again only to have it freeze up on me again during charging. I am highly disappointed with the longevity of this headset because I am not a destructive person that would throw my headset across the room if I lost a game and I took really good care of it.
Other Thoughts: I got this headset to replace my other one (Creative Fatal1ty) after eight years of use and was destroyed by southwest check-in. I had a great experience using creative headsets and after this experience, I believe they need to improve the comfort of the headset (I have a big head) and longevity before I buy another one of their wireless headsets.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Creative 70GH023000000 USB Connector Circumaural Gaming Headset
Pros: Great sound and microphone. It is fun to play around with the voice changer. The wireless range is pretty good as well in an apartment (studio) when you are doing chores and other things.
Cons: The headset is really heavy and after a long gaming session, my ears would hurt. On top of that, the headset is starting to show signs that it may stop working soon even though I kept the headset in good condition (the on/off switch light stops lighting up, sound coming and going, etc).
Other Thoughts: This is probably personal but the constant beeping when the headset is low on battery is set at 40% with no way of changing the warning.READ FULL REVIEW
