Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: This is the second Hyper 212 Plus that I have had and I love the performance of both. The installation method is better than most other CPU coolers of this type and size. I like the fan on the 212 Plus better than the 212 EVO.

Cons: The only real con is the height of the CPU cooler.

Pros: Plenty of space, easy to use drive bay cradles, and decent tool-less design. There was more than adequate cooling space and it includes features found on much more expensive cases. Good cable management area. Looks sharp. Bottom mount power supply, and a few included air filters. Painted interior and screws.

Cons: Thin metal can be easily bent. Drive bay cradles can rattle with the actions of mechanical hard drives or optical drives. The cable management area is a bit tight, and the bulged side panel does little to help in some places. Top external drive bay slot on the case's face cannot be used because of the control board. External drive bay tool-less locks are thin and brittle.

Other Thoughts: The addition of some adhesive backed craft foam on the hard drive cradle sides solved the rattle problems for those slots. The removal of the 5.25" drive bay locks and the use of mounting screws solved the rattle problems there.

Overall, this has been the best budget case I've ever used.

ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Gaming Motherboard

Pros: Great board with a great UEFI. The BIOS updater built into the BIOS worked great to update the BIOS, it also detected my mouse right away, and I had no hardware issues that I have had on a couple other ASRock UEFI based boards. The UEFI interface was good, and the scroll wheel worked correctly as well. Board has very good built in sound, and plenty of USB ports. Generous fan headers for a board of this price.

Cons: Only cons I have with this board are cosmetic and case related and not worth mentioning.
