Pros: For a good bit; it did the job and I was happy.
Cons: As of the last month, the endless loop of death is now happening. I got this mobo Feb of 12. It would do the loop, power on, but not post, then power off from time to time. But now it does it a lot or it will not read that I have a GPU.
I updated the bios, drivers, and all that. I dread turning on my computer. It will loop or not read the gpu. My system has been stable but now it is just a pain.
I called re RMA, I have to ship it, pay for shipping, and then wait to see.
Not too happy and I can't go w/o my main computer for a week. I need to get a new mobo and I am not sure gigabyte will get another shot.
Other Thoughts: I was "lucky" for almost 2 years!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: It works! The 7870 xt took over where my gtx 560s in sli could not go. BF3 on ultra max AA. FPS 50-60 and smooth play.
The games included are gravy.
It it easy to OC but I don't see the need yet.
At 210.00, there was no better value out there.
Cons: IT IS HOT. The cooler on this thing is just within what I call acceptable. If set to auto it will let the card stay at 80c in game. I don't agree with this so I set a fan profile to bump up the fan speed. I have the card at 73-78c now but in order to do that I have the fan running at 50%ish. YOU WILL HEAR IT AT THAT SPEED. My 560s at 60% speed (with 4 fans going) were not as loud.
There are no heat sinks on the GPU ram as well.
Other Thoughts: It goes out of stock for a reason. It is just a great card in game. Just be ready for the trade off: heat vs fan speed.
It is also a large card..long but it feels good to hold and solid. I did have some issue with securing the GPU to the case as some of the holes did not line up.
Pros: Best bang for buck for a gaming rig.
Cons: New stuff coming soon.READ FULL REVIEW
