Pros: It did ok. Cost plus games put it over the edge vs the 970. You could OC the thing and it look good.
Cons: After about month I started to get odd drops where my monitors would go dark but the computer would be on. I would reset the computer and the card would spin up very fast then nothing. I would reset the computer then it would work. It would do this after about 4 hours of use from time to time. I kept reading and working on the settings and setting the fan to run faster helped some.
But last night, it just went down. I used the mobo display port to trouble shoot. I redid all the drivers and worked on it all night. I changed pci slots ...you name it. My computer does not see the card anymore.
The last thing this card did before it death was shut down and the fans spun up to 100%. Then nothing.
Other Thoughts: I am supper bummed. I got rid of a great 280x for this card. It is advertised as certified to be stable.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This thing took over where my 7970 left off. It was easy to set up, set zone for OC, and it kills. I have now moved on to 3 monitors with this card and it is just humn along....
It was stress tested at stock for 4 hours...thing never went over 57*
Cons: The thing is very long...had to take out a HDD cage.
The thing is power hungry...needs a good psu and I had to use adapters to get the OC power connector covered.
The gtx 970 is now out and goes toe to toe with this card...it has better power use and lower heat in a smaller card...if it were not for the 4 games and the 30 buck rebate the 970 would have gotten my cash.
Other Thoughts: I love this card. The reviews online match up. To think I got it for 315 when it was once going for 700 plus makes me happy that my 7970 held its ground for so long.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: For a good bit; it did the job and I was happy.
Cons: As of the last month, the endless loop of death is now happening. I got this mobo Feb of 12. It would do the loop, power on, but not post, then power off from time to time. But now it does it a lot or it will not read that I have a GPU.
I updated the bios, drivers, and all that. I dread turning on my computer. It will loop or not read the gpu. My system has been stable but now it is just a pain.
I called re RMA, I have to ship it, pay for shipping, and then wait to see.
Not too happy and I can't go w/o my main computer for a week. I need to get a new mobo and I am not sure gigabyte will get another shot.
Other Thoughts: I was "lucky" for almost 2 years!READ FULL REVIEW
