Pros: This is an excellent quality monitor, and it's built like a tank. The base is very sturdy and heavy, unlike some monitors. The monitor body itself is also quite sturdy and solid. There is nothing "cheap" and shoddy about this thing. The picture quality is unbelievably good for any price. I formerly owned only Viewsonic monitors, but their quality has slipped terribly in the last few years. This is my first NEC, and I'm a customer for life now. I can't recommend this monitor highly enough. One thing that I find to be a tremendous benefit is that the monitor adjusts in myriad ways, including height and tilt, and the entire screen actually rotates 90 degrees! Also, the biggest plus for me is that the monitor is a 16:10 ratio instead of the annoying 16:9 widescreen. This monitor's native resolution is 1680 x 1050. If you're looking for an excellent 16:10 LCD monitor which doesn't have the annoying washed out brightness of an LED monitor, buy this thing. You'll be very happy with it.
Cons: None come to mind.
Other Thoughts: There was only one stuck pixel when I first turned on the monitor, but that happens, and it has nothing to do with the quality. The stuck pixel was at the very bottom edge of the screen, and it was easily fixed by applying gentle pressure several times with the rounded edge of a ball point pen cap. It hasn't occurred again. Actually, I blame UPS more for that problem, since, once again, UPS made receiving a package an absolute nightmare, as they usually do. After a week of UPS slamming the monitor package around, and refusing to deliver it to me (!), I'm surprised the thing worked at all. I really wish Newegg would stop using UPS for shipping. However, again, that has nothing to do specifically with Newegg or the monitor itself.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This is my first HDTV, and I couldn't be more pleased. Shipping was fast, and the TV was delivered by AIT in perfect shape. The delivery guy was wonderfully nice! The TV had no dead pixels or any other flaws or shipping defects. It works perfectly. The picture is unbelieveable. I made sure to go to stores and look at quite a few Plasma TVs and LCD TVs before deciding which to buy. After a few weeks of research, I decided to go with this TV. It was a smart choice. I couldn't be more pleased. There is no reflection whatsoever with this TV, which can be a problem with other plasmas, since Panasonic's glass is coated and is almost a matte finish. I've watched this TV in bright sunshine, and the picture is clear and totally visible. The sound quality is very good, and the bass is quite powerful, especially when the bass boost is on. My opinion: Forget LCD. Buy a Panasonic plasma TV. The picture is just beautiful, and the price is fantastic. Another great deal from Newegg!
Other Thoughts: It's heavy. Make sure you can lift about 70 lbs. if you have to move the thing around, because it's bigger than you'd expect when you take it out of the box. Also, if power consumption is a concern for you, this TV uses over 500 watts when it's on. It also produces a good amount of heat, so in a relatively small room it doubles as a space heater...Seriously.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ASUS P5Q Deluxe LGA 775 Intel P45 Intel Motherboard
Pros: Nice board, great non-buggy chipset. Express Gate is really cool and potentially a very useful feature, and it worked flawlessly for me the first time I tried it. Setting up my PPPoE connection for internet access was a breeze. Overclocking is a great with this board; there are a gazillion settings you can play with in the BIOS. No RAM compatibility problems at all so far, like some ASUS motherboards.
Cons: The version of Express Gate that comes installed on this mobo doesn't have the music (MP3) player. It has a photo viewer, Firefox web browser, and some other stuff. Don't know if Asus plans on including the MP3 player in future updates. The firm that produces Express Gate makes a version with an MP3 player, but Asus doesn't include it. I would really like to see that included someday.
Other Thoughts: Bought this mobo to replace an Asus P5E that I had nothing but trouble with. I didn't return the P5E to Newegg because the return period was up. Scavenged the P5E for parts, and discovered that the cool looking copper heatsinks on the P5E are actually copper-plated aluminum. Stay away from the P5E. Get the P5Q instead.READ FULL REVIEW
