This review is from: Fractal Design Define S Silent Computer Case
Pros: Tons of room to work with.
comes with excellent fans.
Other Thoughts: My previous case was a CM Haf XB evo. while I loved how easy it was to transport that case, it was a pain to build and upgrade in.
The first thing I loved about the Define S was how roomy it is inside. I was able to install everything with ease and without getting my knuckles bloody. something I can't say about the Haf XB...
I also love how the hard drives are hidden away on the backside of the case. I'm very certain that all this room will come in handy if I decide to go into to custom loop watercooling.
Pros: Moves lots of air.
Not too loud.
Cons: Cables are short.
Other Thoughts: I have these installed in a Define S.
I wanted to use these as front intake fans, but as I said in the cons, the cables are short. even using the 3pin connectors I couldn't mount these on the front of my case AND plug them in.
I had to re-position all of the fans in my case because of this. I put one of these on my cpu cooler (hyper 212 evo), and the other fan as rear exhaust.
These fans move a good amount of air. just beware how short the cables are.
Pros: Runs everything in 1080p on ultra at 60 fps.
Temps stay in low 30s when idle, high 40s low 50s when gaming.
Several settings for the light.
Cons: The ONLY con I have for this card is that my card has started whining. I don't know if I knocked it against something while I was upgrading my motherboard. but there is a noticeable whine now when I mute the volue on games, and I can hear it some times when I'm browsing the internet.
Other Thoughts: the coil whine isn't constant when not in games. seems to just come along randomly. but when in games and the fans kick in to help cool the card it's very noticeable if the volume is low or muted. I really want to give this card 5 eggs, but the coil whine stops me.
I was planning on adding another of these cards to my system, but then the whining started happening. I don't think I could handle having two of these guys squealing.
