Western Digital WD Blue WD3200AAKX 320GB 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Extremely quiet, works moderately well with my build.

Cons: With my build it's pretty obvious that this hard drive is the bottleneck in my system. Ultimately it gets the job done and still does it fairly quick, but anything that's not cached takes noticeably longer to load. But I guess if I wanted a faster hard drive I should have gone with SSD.

Other Thoughts: My build:
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming LGA 1155 Intel Z77
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz
Graphics Card: MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 660
Power Supply: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
Hard Drive: Western Digital WD Blue WD3200AAKX 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache

Pros: Got this free with my motherboard (see my specs below). Aside from a brief problem during installation I haven't had any problems - works great with my build. Looking at the other reviews I guess I got lucky.

Cons: I tried to dual channel with this at first and my mobo would power cycle every 15 seconds, but when I stopped trying to dual channel the RAM everything worked fine. I'm pretty sure I just need to change a setting in my BIOS.

Pros: I bought this with my first custom built PC and I'm surprised how easy it was to install. I'm also amazed at how cool it stays during gaming. I haven't overclocked yet but the temperature has hardly fluctuated. Everything loads up really fast - I look forward to using this for a long time.

Cons: None!
