Pros: Very good, crisp audio recording from my external ball microphone that didn't work very good (if at all) on my onboard audio.
Cons: Still getting a little noise, but it's not the kind that I had before that made all of my initial test videos for a Wii U news show. Probably the microphone settings that I currently have plus the pass through app setup that I initially had, but which didn't work real good for me either.
Other Thoughts: Although it does say XP/Vista/7 compatible as the limitations of the drivers, I was nonetheless able to get the device working under a Windows 8 configuration with no problems whatsoever. I did run the installation routine through compatibility mode as an extra precaution of course, and there wasn't a single negative effect from doing so unlike what the one guy said that blue screened from his/her installation, and I did run the driver installation from the website zip file so as not to involve my laptop's cd/dvd drive because of the way my recording configuration is set up. All things considered, I made a good purchase decision for my extremely limited startup funding reserves and would certainly recommend that potential buyers overlook the negativity and try it for themselves before rushing to judgment as it doesn't have to be anywhere near the headaches of a botched setup job. Just be sure that you run the setup routine through compatibility mode if you're not 100% certain about installing the drivers on Windows 8, and if you do THEN BE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT YOU USE THE WINDOWS 7 INSTALLATION FILES SO THAT YOU DON'T RUN INTO ANY COMPLICATIONS WHATSOEVER.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: TRITTON AX180 Universal Gaming Headset, by Mad Catz
Cons: How do I say this... volume controls flip-flop, audio stops working, loose xbox controller connection, flimsy mic, sensitive mic switch that can move far enough to disable the voice input until it is moved back... oh, and it breaks easy. Really easy... I had to tape it up to stop the shattering and one of the earpieces still came off!!! Then about the other day I made the mistake of removing the tape from the other side and BAM! Same thing happens again!!!
Other Thoughts: Do not buy this piece of junk. You're only wasting your money; should be 10 or 15 greenbacks, and definitely NOT 75 bucks for what you get. Way too overpriced for shoddy craftsmanship; there are much better headsets available.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Sound, but nothing else
Cons: Everything else, including lack of mic control aside from on/off switch (and the fact that mine stopped receiving mic input completely!)
Other Thoughts: Don't waste cash on this dingo. I would not have given it even one egg if I had the option not to.READ FULL REVIEW
