MSI GTX 960 GAMING 4G GeForce GTX 960 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support ATX Video Card
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

5 out of 5 eggs Best card for the money in its' price range. 05/16/2015

This review is from: MSI GTX 960 GAMING 4G GeForce GTX 960 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support ATX Video Card

Pros: 4 Gigs of on board memory. This card comes with a Back plate! BF4 looks amazing, and TitanFall plays really smooth! The card color scheme looks really nice, and the backlit MSI logo is cool! You can't buy a better Nvidia based card right now in the price range!

Cons: Not a 980, but you have to pay an unreasonable amount of money to get a 980 GTX or a Titan right now, so, no biggie. The 970 GTX is reasonably priced as well, but why buy that card, when an overclocked 960 GTX can almost reach the same benchmarks?

You can't turn MSAA up very high in most demanding games without a noticeable reduction in frame rates. No Biggie!

Other Thoughts: I see no reason to purchase a 980 or 970 GTX right now, as Nvidia announced that the new PASCAL architecture, that is replacing MAXWELL, will be out early next year. The new AMD and INTEL CPUs will also be out, so you can expect a massive drop in the pricing of current high end Video Cards and CPUS. Next year is going to be a PC Gamer's paradise!

Team Xtreme 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model TXD38G2400HC10QDC01
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Fast, fast fast. 2400 MHZ or higher. Good for gaming.

Cons: Had some issue with stability on an AsRock Z77 Pro4 Motherboard. After flashing the Bios to 1.8 and settings voltage to 1.65v and XMP setting in Bios on, working great at 2400.

Other Thoughts: The price was nice at the time I bought these.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

5 out of 5 eggs Windows Great Not 8 07/28/2013

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit

Pros: Most of the issues of Windows Vista have been addressed.

This is not windows 8, which was designed with touch screens in mind.

Cons: The price has not come down in 2-3 years.

Other Thoughts: There is no doubt that Windows 8 was a panic move by Microsoft, and they needed to get into the mobile OS market, but Windows 8 is just terrible, so for now, and until MS stops supporting it, it is Windows 7 for me. If you game, you really have no choice but to stay with Windows 7 for now. Ubuntu is great, and getting better, but is still not quite there yet in supporting all games, and newer games.
