ARCTIC Freezer 11 LP CPU Cooler for Intel, Support Multiple Sockets, HTPC Ready
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

5 out of 5 eggs Perfect for basic slim tower 06/17/2014

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 11 LP CPU Cooler for Intel, Support Multiple Sockets, HTPC Ready

Pros: -Much better than stock coolers
-Easy install
-No movement if installed properly
-Pre applied thermal compound

Cons: -Does not fit well with memory that has a big heat spreader on most mATX boards, that's more of a tip than a con so im not gonna knock an egg for that.

Other Thoughts: Ive used about 9 of these now in recent slim tower builds, these are basic builds nothing extreme. They are used in offices so they are running 24/7 and the room temps aren't great. In the previous 3 I have built its been in cases with only front and back venting and does the job fine. I have had zero issues with the 9 ive bought at different times so no inconsistency in quality. On the original 2 I used I had installed with Corsair Vengeance memory and it was too tight of a fit, I have switched to the Vengeance LP memory and it fits fine.

All slim tower mATX builds, 4 have been i3-4130, 2 have been i5-4570 and 3 have been i3-4150

I'll be continuing to use these on future LGA 1150 builds

IN WIN CE685.FH300TB3 Black MicroATX Slim Case Computer Case comes with a 300W TFX 12V PSU 300W TFX 12V PSU Power Supply
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: -Solid Case
-Fitment is good
-Perfect size for office environment
-Looks professional grade
-4 USB Front ports
-Assembly and maintenance is easy
-Power supply works as it should
-Airflow is good for a slim case

Cons: -None that I have encountered

Other Thoughts: I'm using this for a basic PC build in an office environment. I have ordered 3 more since testing with the first. Assembly was done quickly, no hassle, you really don't need any kind of instructions. My first concern with trying a new case was fitment of the parts in the plastic clips and holders, everything went in fine and fits without moving around. Second was the case finish which is good and overall looks good for a professional environment. Third was the power supply, 300-watt is perfect for my i3-4150's il be setting up, so far I haven't hadn't any signs that this PSU will be a problem. That being said it would be nice to have seen a 350-watt PSU so I would be more comfortable doing a bit more power hungry build. Lastly was the cooling, it only has front and back venting, and one front slot for a 90/92mm fan, so I was a bit worried about the cooling. Using an Arctic F9 PWM case fan and Arctic 11LP CPU Cooler the cooling is acceptable for how they will be used, ideally I would have liked it to be better. Il add temps below with parts list.

Room Temp 23C/74F
Under normal load for about 4 hours checking email, opening pdf, using MS Office applications 35C/95F
5 back to back 15 minute burn in test at 100% load on the last test it ran about 57C/135F but did spike briefly to about 62C/144F
To compare, it runs about 3-4C hotter than an identical build in a size comparable slim case that is much more open with a top exhaust vent and 80mm fan and side vent right over the CPU Cooler.

5 out of 5 eggs Good Quality, as expected from ASUS. 06/04/2014

This review is from: ASUS H97M-PLUS LGA 1150 Intel H97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: -Works as expected
-Properly packaged
-Has every port and header the average user would need
-BIOS is great for new and experienced users
-Everything on the board is solid
-Fan Control helps keep my almost ventless slim tower builds cool
-Looks expensive and high quality (for my customers who only need that to know they're buying a good product from me)

Cons: -Cheap flimsy I/O shield, not really a big deal and is common amongst most mobo's. I would like something a bit more solid.

Other Thoughts: I build slim towers that are used in office environments. I was previously using the ASUS H81M-Plus and although I have had zero issues with those, I will be switching to this board for future builds.
