King of Overclocking

AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: -Good performance for price -Dated, but still relevant to many applications and games -One of the best overclock-able processors out there

Cons: -Runs a bit hot, good cooling will keep it happy -Poor cache performance when overclocking, the northbridge is located on chip and pushing memory speeds is incredibly difficult with this processor. Can be difficult to stabilize when overclocking both the main frequency and NB speeds.

Overall Review: If you're upgrading your old AM3+ computer and need a processor, this one is it. Upgraded my 6 year old 8150 to max my system out and make it the absolute best it could be before I invest in Ryzen in the next year or two. All of the bins should be quality now, as the 9590 is pretty much done and they're not making anymore, so the likelyhood you get one that could pull high clocks without blowing up is pretty good. Mine is running 4.7 and 5.1 Turbo 24/7 while keeping under 61C under load, low 60's under Prime95 blend. Not easy when you also overclock your NB to 2600 and get 32GB's of 2133 memory in there, but it will start pushing i-6700K benchmarks at that point.

5 Eggs, for now!

DEEPCOOL Gamer Storm CAPTAIN 240EX-AIO CPU Liquid Cooler 240mm Ceramic Bearing Pump Visual Liquid Flow Metal Mounting Kit AM4 Compatible

Pros: Nice AIO, decent price. I bought it since it did look pretty sweet and the reviews online about it were overall positive. Glowy red and does water cooling for cheap. Fans work good and are not loud, unless running at full speed then nearly any fan is loud. Will update later if anything else goes on with this product.

Cons: Could use longer radiator mounting screws, especially if your case is build to hold a radiator and fans. My fans go on the outside of the case, radiator inside. Had to use some of my old screws since the new are too short.

Overall Review: Waiting to see if it fails, if it does then I get to see if DeepCool stands by their products. This went into a PC with an old Corsair H100 that needed replaced after years of use. The only reason I did buy this product was the fact that reviewers here and elsewhere said that they stand by their products. Read a DeepCool AMA on Reddit, and they chose the glass tubing since it failed less, however seems they didn't take into account proper O rings, and that's come back to haunt them terribly.

Excellent, needs a fan mount on the NB though

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: Excellent board, came with an updated BIOS so that my FX-8150 came right up. That's important since the older versions did not support the FX chips out of the box. Overclocking protection is good too, I accidentally put in a bit too much voltage on a setting and it shut my comp down and reset the BIOS for me. The board is pretty to look at and constructed well. It looks beautiful in my case after all said and done.

Cons: Though it has its own form of heat dissipation, I'm going to invest in a few 40mm fans for its vcores (NB chips on the MB). Have a water cooling unit for my processor and it remains continually cooler than the MB itself. Figure one it has a little air running over the chips it will settle down.

Pretty, works well

nMEDIAPC Black 5.25" USB 2.0 Card Reader w/e-SATA & 4 Channels Multi Fan Controller in LCD Display

Pros: Shiny blue and a neat screen. This does what is intended, reads cards and has fan controls.

Cons: The product seems to be based on some dated technology. It is inexpensive, but one can tell the craftsmanship on it isn't great.

Overall Review: I've given 4 eggs to this because the one I got works and works well, but I can tell the craftsmanship behind it isn't great. The product itself seems flimsy looks a bit older. I remember using those types of heat sensors in a PC I built back in 2000, before they were all the rage. Anyway, good product overall though.

Amazing for the price

Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 - Sleeve Bearing 120mm Green LED Silent Fan for Computer Cases, CPU Coolers, and Radiators
Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 - Sleeve Bearing 120mm Green LED Silent Fan for Computer Cases, CPU Coolers, and Radiators

Pros: If you catch these at the right price point, they are worth every cent. They're not here to move massive air, if your system demands that then go get some noise makers. That being said, they still do move air well but very quietly. Their glow is nice too. I purchased 6 of these and every one of them works well.

Cons: None

Crucial Ballistix 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT51264FN186H

Pros: Caught these on Shell Shocker, and they're running beautifully in my system. I was being particular about the color / look of my memory and didn't want the red other offering (I know, picky lol). AMD FX-8150 running with an Asus Sabertooth 990 just as specified. As normal, have to put the timings into BIOS but I'm used to that anymore. Have been able to overclock them up to around 2000 and run them as stable.

Cons: 1.75 voltage, just be aware it's not the lower 1.5. Not as good for OC'ing if you need to put just a bit more juice.
