ASUS Z97-A/USB 3.1 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: None

Cons: Gave me additional experience building a computer as once it was completed, the computer did not start. I thought originally it was the PSU, so I replaced the PSU. However, that did not fix it. It was this motherboard that was the cause of the computer to not even start, so at least was able to rebuild my computer one more time.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy ASUS motherboards, go with Gigabyte motherboards! They have a better design and are more reliable.

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (11197-01-40G)
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Had a high price tag, giving me the illusion it will perform well.

Cons: Did not perform well.
I bought a XFX HD-697A-CNFC Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-Bit about a year before this SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7970 and it performed far better from day one, and it lasted far longer. XFX still lasts 3 years after original purchase while Sapphire lasted 1 year after purchase.

Other Thoughts: I learned through this experience not to trust Sapphire graphics cards. From now on I will only be buying XFX cards!
