Pros: Works well with Intel Core i3-4130 Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 54W Dual-Core Desktop Processor BX80646I34130 N82E16819116946. Works fine with Linux Ubuntu 13.
Cons: It required a few reboots before Ubuntu Linux worked through the HDMI, but now it works fine.
Other Thoughts: I use this in a HTPC. For RAM, I use G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL N82E16820231427READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Works fine with Ubuntu Linux and GIGABYTE GA-Z87MX-D3H LGA 1150 Intel Z87 motherboard. There was no requirement of flashing the BIOS to see this processor. The built-in video processing is strong enough for an HTPC and real-time visualizations when listening to MP3s in Clementine music player.
Other Thoughts: I don't use a separate video card, and it works fine for watching movies and listening to music with visualizations.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: It's a fairly quiet HD. It works fine with Linux Ubuntu.
Cons: not as quiet as I'd like it to be for an HTPC
Other Thoughts: I am using this hard drive inside of a SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum MILO Series ML03B case. The drive is attached directly to housing without any noise reducing suspension, but I think that the search clicks could stand to be a bit quieter.READ FULL REVIEW
