This review is from: NVIDIA SHIELD Portable
Pros: Hardware (Quad Core + Tegra 4)
Screen - Games look great
Controller - As nice as any pc/console controller I've used.
Control Mapper - Easy to setup games made for touchscreen only
Price point for the hardware is phenomenal
Cons: Limited selection of droid games actually made for this.
Other Thoughts: Gamestream can be a bit laggy - Sometimes only annoyingly so, others unplayably so - I need to test some different router / adapter combinations as this may not be the Shield's fault. Nvidia recommends wired networking for the desktop and high performance dual band router. I have neither of these, so again, may not be the Shield's fault.
Emulator selection for Android + My collection of ROMs on top of the other features makes this likely most versatile handheld gaming setup available.
Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase of this very nifty little toy.
This review is from: Microsoft Windows 8.1 - Full Version (32 & 64-bit)
Pros: Better pricing/tier model than Win7
Latest software & hardware support
Once configured seems to run just like Win 7
Cons: "Start Menu" is awful (but you probably knew that anyway)
Didn't like my nearly new Wireless PCI Card. Would just randomly freeze (and I mean completely freeze. Hard Reboot the only way around it)
Other Thoughts: Some people probably like making their Desktop more like their smartphone. I am always looking for ways to make my smartphone more like my desktop. I probably could have done without this particular upgrade. YMMV.READ FULL REVIEW
