Pros: fast, affordable, Compatible with older laptops (roughly 7 years), best reviewed DDR2 RAM I could find
Cons: none so far. The real limit is my old motherboard.
Other Thoughts: A great way to upgrade an old laptop. This is literally the most RAM that my current motherboard can support, but it saved me a bundle compared to buying a whole new computer.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fast, Reliable, Noiseless, Plentiful Storage, Durable, compatible with older SATA, fits into a laptop, A LAPTOP FOR PETE'S SAKE!
Cons: Expensive compared to memory size of old-style spinning hard drives.
Other Thoughts: Consider your options carefully: yes, you could get much more memory with an old-style spinning hard drive, but this thing is seriously awesome. Running Ubuntu, my computer starts up and shuts down almost as fast as my 3DS! Windows 8.1 takes longer, but is still up within a short time.
If a program freezes up the system, it is now actually faster for me to reboot in roughly half a minute than to try to handle the offending process normally. I can now make maximum use of short times between classes that would otherwise have been wasted trying to cope with my old, slower drive.
It is vastly improved from my ancient seagate drive that came with my laptop, and I rest easier with the expectation that a solid state drive should withstand the test of time better than its spinning ancestors.
