Other Thoughts: Strangely I was unable to access and edit my previous review to make changes. I chose to write another review seeing as my experience has changed.
I originally reviewed as a 1/5 due to the constant problems I was having with cards dying after a couple days. Upon getting the manufacturer reply at the bottom of my newegg post, I began their RMA process. After some bugs on the Palit submission page, it finally went through and I dropped the card in the mail. Probably 5 days later I got a box back with a brand new card. I dropped the new card in, and it runs flawlessly.
Low points obviously due to having to try 3 cards to get one that worked correctly. But Palit did get some points back with their tech support, which was helpful. And their turn around time on my RMA blew me away (no status, no updates, no info, just BAM new card).
The end result is the 3rd card works as one would expect it to.
Pros: This one card could outperform my two nvidia 8800 GT's in SLI. The DX11 was a great draw as well. When it actually works, it's great.
Cons: I have had nothing but problems with this card. The first card I got worked for about 5 days before crapping out and making my computer unable to boot. The drivers disc that came with it was corrupted, and it took almost 24 hours to get any kind of drivers to install, as the card refused to work with any. Returned it and got a new one, hoping things would change. Guess what... they didn't. While the new one is more stable, it roughly lasts 2 weeks before screwing up again. Fixed it, then it stops working again 2 weeks later. Every time it gets to the loading screen and the computer crashes. Even went so far as to redo the entire OS, and still it's jacked up.
Other Thoughts: After all is said and done, I greatly regret buying this card. If I was able to return it, I would. I intend to attempt to send it to the manufacturer and see if they can figure it out.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
Pros: All copper. Blue LED fan. Excellent cooling. People will look inside your case and ask "what the heck is that thing?"
Cons: Not really a big fan of the way it mounts to the mobo. Since I was building my computer from scratch, I read ahead and knew to mount the heatsink before putting the mobo in the case. While the plate on the back really helps provide the support needed for a heatsink this big and heavy, I can see how someone trying to install it onto an existing build would have a really hard time.
My only other gripe is the latching system. I didn't read the diagram carefully enough to know I needed to mount the support bracket in a certain direction to make sure the heatsink doesn't move. The result was I had already spread the paste, placed the heatsink, and realized the clamp was on the wrong side. Thankfully nothing got messed up and my pc works perfectly, but the chance for catestrophic damage is there.
Other Thoughts: Even overclocking, it keeps my Q6600 under 40c. While I didn't have a problem with it in my CoolerMaster Stacker case, others with smaller cases could have issues since its really big. The only other thing is that the way it mounts can get in the way of other things around the mobo. On my EVGA 780i, I can't put the fan onto the North Bridge beacuse the heatsink mount is in the way.READ FULL REVIEW
