This review is from: Patriot Autobahn 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model PSF16GLSABUSB
Pros: Works for car stereo mp3/usb digital receiver.
read avg 26.1mb/s
read min 17.4mb/s
write 25.5mb/s (first 1gb ONLY!)
write avg 2.8mb/s
write min 1.3mb/s
access time 0.8ms
Cons: Write speed. Dont get this thinking you will write data on it repeatedly.
Same Price Locally!
Other Thoughts: I bought this over the sandisk FIT because this has an alloy casing and no LED activity indicator.
Used for a flush fit car mp3/usb digital receiver.
This review is from: New Boss 612Ua Fixed Face Mp3/Wma And Usb/Sd/Aux Mechless Receiver
Pros: NO CD
Has SD card and USB flash.
I wanted a low end decent "mechless" digital media player for my car to replace the 1990s tape player.
I use an 8gb sd card AND an 8gb usb micro flash disk to play music.
Sounds great, possibly better than the old tape deck.
It has a "tactile" response volume knob that works fine.
At 40 the volume is loud and clear but probally not 90db like an airplane engine.
More than adequate to overpower road noise.
Cons: I got this locally on sale for less than any online website offers.
The fake EQ bars on the screen cannot be shut off while sound is playing but it is under my passenger dashboard so I dont really care too much.
User manual is garbage mostly.
The connection plug uses 18gauge wire for everything and inline fuses on the ACC & Batt wires.
Holding down buttons for a few seconds can be irritating while driving.
Other Thoughts: I dont have an AUX capable player but im sure my friends have some kind of ipod or phone so I dont know the capability of that.
For a 30 minute ride around town or to work this unit performs everything I need it to do.
It is very light weight because there are no mechanical parts inside, it is only a circuit board, housing, face, and heatsink.
CLOCK remains set because of proper *Batt* wiring
Random continues after shutting down the unit
Volume remains at previous level or drops below 20 after restarting
I own a VW (not beetle) so the VW beetle logo in the center doesnt bother me.
This review is from: ASUS Xonar DG 5.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
Pros: Specs look excellent on paper, 105*C capacitors, has spdif.
"Works" in xp,vista/7
purchased locally for same price NEW.
Cons: I have several OS for various tasks, I primarily use windows server 2003 for media. Asus does not support drivers for this so i tried the XP drivers since they are similar and usually packaged together.
BSOD cmudaxp.sys during install, gives a bad_pool_header bsod on reboot.
i tried everything for hours, uni drivers, older versions, i tried it multiple times, i even disabled PAE in boot options.
there are NO answers online for "xonar dg windows server 2003" anywhere
I bought this locally and returned it the same day.
Other Thoughts: After hours of attempting to install drivers I went ahead and tested it in XP pro.
The uni driver installed fine and rebooted with sound
Sound was very quiet...the CM-Panel did not have a lot of useful options
I also have 4 speakers (2 inputs) and I could only get one of them to playback anything.
I tested a few songs and movies to hear audio quality and wasnt too impressed.
I uninstalled the drivers and removed the card, did not even bother with windows7 because of all the hassle.
In the BIOS i turned onboard realtek back on and reinstalled everything, realtek just worked.
The same day within 8 hours the sound card was refunded locally.
I really wanted to enjoy and like this card but realized it was a dream.
