Pros: When working the drive was quiet and fast. I installed two of these in my first build back in June 2012. The drive is about 2/3 full with mostly pictures and video files. About a month ago my security software started hanging on certain jpeg files on this drive. I tried viewing the files in Adobe Bridge and it crashed. I have deleted the offending files and the problem went away for a week or two then came back. I then wiped the free space on the drive. That too solved the problem temporarily. I downloaded WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostics. The drive failed the quick test with the following message:
Test Option: QUICK TEST
Model Number: WDC WD1502FAEX-007BA0
Unit Serial Number: WD-WMAY03844529
Firmware Number: 05.01D05
Capacity: 1500.30 GB
SMART Status: PASS
Test Result: FAIL
Test Error Code: 06-Quick Test on drive 5 did not complete! Status code = 07 (Failed read test element), Failure Checkpoint = 97 (Unknown Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 5!
Test Time: 23:06:15, July 09, 2014
I am in the process of running the extended test - but that will take 3-4 hours to complete. On WD's support forum people who ran into the above error were told their drive is failing and it should be replaced. This is the first HD failure I have had in many years.
Cons: Drive failed after 2 years even though it was their premium quality drive that came with a 5 year warranty. I am hoping I can get an RMA for the drive. I paid extra for the Black drives over the Blue or Green models.READ FULL REVIEW

Pros: The design is great - fully modular. Opening the box I was quite impressed - it felt like I had a premier product. The PSU came with a very nice bag for storing extra cables and the unit itself was gift wrapped in felt. It was a really good price for a Gold rated PSU.
Cons: This is my first ever system build. I spent many hours putting it together and following the NewEgg videos. I even did the out of box test to see if the mobo would boot with just the video card, RAM and CPU. It passed. After spending a long time getting it in the case, the PC would shut itself off a few seconds after Power On, or reboot itself. I went into BIOS and saw that my 5V rail was only reading 4.3V. This is well below the 5% cut-off range and was flagged as red, I spent hours working with some nice people disassembling the PC one step at a time to find the culprit. I eventually was back to the PSU, motherboard/CPU. The problem remained. Then I went out and bought a volt meter and tested the power on a Molex cable. Sure enough it was only 4.3. The PSU was essentially DOA.
Other Thoughts: I lost about 7 hours trying to figure this out. I am sure a more experienced builder would have isolated the problem much sooner. The reason I bought a Gold rated PSU was for peace of mind - instead I ended up with a headache. To NewEgg's credit it was easy to get an RMA. I had to disassemble the case but the PSU is all boxed up and will be shipped out tomorrow, Meanwhile, I just ordered a CORSAIR Professional Series HX750 (CMPSU-750HX) 750W 80 PLUS SILVER Certified. I am hoping it works out better.READ FULL REVIEW
