G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR
  • Verified Owner

Pros: I have been running this for a couple years now and it has been rock solid. I have upgraded 3 Motherboards and 2 predecessors but this RAM has remained the same across them all.

Cons: None.

Corsair Air Series CO-9050016-WLED 120mm White LED Case Fan
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Moves a lot of air. Good looking fans.

Cons: I purchased 2 sets of these. 3 of the fans seem to be fine, however the 4th makes a very annoying buzz sound when running. I believe the blades are not properly balanced. I tried contacting Corsair however they have no direct number I can find and you can only do web based support. They haven't even gotten back to me about an issue with a cooler from last year. Much less this one.

Other Thoughts: The quality of the product is marred by the difficulty of contacting corsair if there is an issue.

ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: SLI capable.
Great BIOS options

Cons: Failed within 2 months.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board for a new build. Withing a couple months one of the PCI Express 3.0 slots had failed making it incapable of using my SLI configuration.

I called ASUS and spoke to a tech who informed me that it failed because I was using a PCI Express 2.0 card with the board. First off this is of course not the case and secondly I had not told him what Video cards I had been using.

I finally got transferred to someone who knew something. He set up an RMA and packed the board up very carefully.

Now however ASUS is claiming that the board has bent CPU Pins. This despite the fact that the fact that the Pins were fine when I put the protector back on to ship it.

Now I am going around and around with Tech Support trying to get them to fix the board or even just send it back to me.

A big part of my job is selling Asus computers and after this experience I am having a hard time suggesting them to my customers.
