1st SSD

Silicon Power Slim S60 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SP240GBSS3S60S25
Silicon Power Slim S60 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SP240GBSS3S60S25

Pros: Much faster than standard HDDs. About 30 second boots from shutdown, and 5 second boots from sleep.

Cons: No cloning software. Not a huge deal. There are several free options. Just Google it.

Overall Review: No problems so far. Still weary of a drive crash. No idea how you would recover data from SSDs. Just keep a clone on a HDD periodically. The SSD dies, just pop in the HDD.

Nice light

LOGISYS Computer CLK8WT2 8" White Cold Cathode Dual Lamps For Case Mod
LOGISYS Computer CLK8WT2 8" White Cold Cathode Dual Lamps For Case Mod

Pros: The light is bright.

Cons: Several cons, but not enough too bad. 1). The inverter is baby blue. Black should be a default color for something like this. 2). The length of the wires is too short. 3). The Velcro adhesive is horrible. 4). The biggest con however. When you have 2 lights plugged into the inverter, one is noticeably brighter.

Overall Review: I have a red, and a white cathode in my case. I had to use 2 inverters, because the wires are very short. overall, I do like these lights. However, others might prefer LED strips.

A quite fan, at a low price.

ID-COOLING PL-12025-R Red LED 120mm Fan with De-vibration Rubber, 1600RPM, 60CFM, Low noise & Big Airflow
ID-COOLING PL-12025-R Red LED 120mm Fan with De-vibration Rubber, 1600RPM, 60CFM, Low noise & Big Airflow

Pros: I have 3 of these in my Define R5 case. The case fan controller has 3 settings, low, med, high. On low, and med, you can't hear the fans at all. On high, the fans are audible, but not too loud. I have 2 Radeon HD6970s in the case, and these fans are a fraction of the volume of these cards at 30%.

Cons: No Cons.

Overall Review: I would recommend these fans. They are quite, look great, and have good airflow.

Was it worth the money?

Pros: I used to be one of those people that said," Why would anyone spend more than $50 on a case?". Even while shopping for a new case 2 weeks ago, I was looking at cheap cases. I wanted something with an interesting aesthetic. Then I ran across the NZXT S340. This case was completely different from what I thought I wanted. However, the large window was very appealing to me. I was close to settling on this case, until I watched some videos on You Tube, and saw that this case didn't support an optical drive bay. Then I found the Define R5. This case had a similar aesthetic, and supported an optical drive bay. After watching a few videos on this case, I was hooked. This case can be configured in a variety of ways. The sound deadening material used on the side panels, and front door, really helps to keep the computer quiet.

Cons: Not really a con. Just my personal preference. I would have like to have had a larger window. The window on the NZXT S340 is awesome. It shows that entire inside case. Also, the power led is blue. It would be nice to have a multi color led, to have the option of selecting the color. I have a red and black build.

Overall Review: Overall, I really love this case. With all the ways to configure this case, I can't imagine what another case could offer to cause me to switch.
