This review is from: NETGEAR ProSAFE 16-Port Fast Ethernet Switch (FS116) - Lifetime Warranty
Pros: 16 ports more then I ever need
home use T100 is all we need to distribute internet to every gadget and pc in the house. It has more capacity then my Comcast 50Mb down / 12Mb up.
Cons: It requires reset of power every 1 month or so, noticed this after internet became sluggish speednet reported only 9Mb down speed. I have reset all other gear with no resolution, until I reset the switch did the speed jumped back up. Not sure what it is but I have read similar reviews from few others in regards of FS116 and FS108 .
I have not contacted Netgear. Sounds to me as some sort of static or heat issue might be effecting the speed downgrade.
Heard some folks being told by Netgear techs that it might be a software issue and that they will transfer them to pay per incident tech support. No thanks.
Hey, Netgear, its time get get your techs helping here with your product.
Other Thoughts: My home town is voting this November on city providing its fiber-optic loop to home and business connections at 1 gigabit for about $50 (Comcast is shaking in their boots) So I will have to upgrade my network to 1 gigabit speed. Kind of a happy bummer.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: At least it was on sale for $120 but see bellow. it works out of the box.
newegg shipped it fast. Power supply on the cord - if it breaks you just replace that (hopefully).
Cons: has washed out colors, poor contrast - none can be fixed. If this is future of lcd displays (energy saver) I might give up on computers all together and get my life back.
Other Thoughts: This one replaced 20" display that went dark with light weeez sound from it - probably cap on power supply boiled out I could not open it with out breaking something so decided to by this as it was on sale. It is hard on the eyes. It will likely be just a backup monitor.
It might be worth $80 dollars otherwise look for better unit.
