This review is from: ASRock Z97 Extreme4 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: -Fantastic sound quality
-Great BIOS with lots of features
-The BIOS can download updates and flash itself. Less effort than using a flash drive. Very convenient feature.
-The built in heat sinks look nice and provide nice cooling for the board
-The M.2 slot future proofs the board
-The Intel ethernet port is very fast (as all Intel nics are)
-Drivers work very well with Windows 7 x64. Everything is successfully detected in device manager and I had no issues during the install.
-3 PCIe 3.0 slots with each getting full x16 bandwidth!
-Compatible with almost any RAM (unlike some ASUS boards)
Cons: -ASRock could update the drivers more often. I think they haven't been updated for a month and a half.
Other Thoughts: Currently running this board with:
i7 4770k (haven't overclocked it yet)
Crucial Ballistix 2x4GB (1333 MHz)
PNY XLR8 SSD 128 GB
MSI Radeon HD 7790 1GB
So far it's lighting fast and running perfectly, I don't see a need to overclock for the time being. The board has been stable and I haven't shut it off for over 2 days.
-Here is the product page for this board if anyone's interested (http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Extreme4/)
