Link Depot MHHSN-10 10 ft. Mini HDMI Male to Male High Speed Networking Cable M-M
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Perfect. Exactly what I needed. Got a new Video card for my PC that had a Mini HDMI out. Got this to connect it to my TV. Sound is much better and louder than streaming though my XBox 360.

Cons: None

TRENDnet TEG-S80G Unmanaged 8-Port Gigabit GREENnet Switch
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Got this to replace my old but still solid 4 port linksys 10/100. Got a new FIOS router that had gigabit and the way the network is setup we can now get gigabit between all the PC's so when we stream off my PC to any number one of the PC's or Consoles in the house everything works great without any bogging or buffer.

Cons: None

Seagate STBD4000400 4TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5

Pros: 4TB. Tossed the drive in, Had issues at first with my Dell 5/iR SAS card reading it but that's an issue with the card but on board read it just fine! I formatted it to GPT, copied my now 10 GB free 2 TB Samsung, and my full 500GB laptop drive that i was using as extra storage to this. Took a while to transfer 2.4TB of data but it did well. after 60 power on hours i check SMART stats and everything great all across the board. Some read and seek errors but expected with a hard drive with 1TB platters. Runs pretty cool as well.

Cons: Only issue i had but it could have been a number of things was some file transfers were slow. Like 10-20 MBps slow vs the 100 i should be getting out of it BUT i use this drive STRICTLY as backup since i see a lot of 4TB dropping dead. Only time this guy is on is to do a backup.

Other Thoughts: Cables were great even though I didn't need them. This runs good and cool. Very quite. Now running my two 2TB in a Raid 0 on my Dell SAS card which i get like 260MBps from those drives (According to benchmarks tho. haven't seen those numbers. The 4TB gets like 120-130 on the bench mark. Only running SATA II as well not SATA III. Much better than the last Seagate over 1TB i bought long ago. that 1.5TB lasted a year. Replacement lasted 6 months that replacement lasted 3 months then the one after a month then replaced it once more and it had so many reallocated sectors after 2 days it was already so slow. I just threw it away...But this one doing good so far.
