Overall Review: This review is for the 500GB version. Installed in a 10 year old P55 machine. Only does 280MB/s max read/write. Best it can do on that old machine. Very satisfactory. Installed in machine, cloned system drive. Done. Fair price. Excellent shipping, received next day.

Pros: Beautiful card. Pretty picture on the plastic cover. Nice powerful centrifugal fan, quieter than most but still audible to me. Big, heavy, bulky. Solid installation, doesn't budge.

Overall Review: Installed in a 10 year old P55 machine. Runs at 2,000Mhz. Normally, this should run at 2,400Mhz, but the BIOS is limited in a specific timing. I have to set it manually. This is the timing: tRFC 255 Fair price. Excellent shipping, received two days. I had this model installed before and I used the same tRFC 255 timing: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL

Pros: Currently running 2,130mhz after manual bios config. Specifically tRFC = 255, and XMP Profile2. I'm writing this review with the sticks in the machine. Previous review I said I could only get it to post at 1,950mhz max and was running 1,900mhz.

Cons: Had to find the tRFC trick on my own after fiddling with manual bios settings. Found it, so no biggy.

Overall Review: tRFC for my mobo only goes to 255 (Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3, rev 1.0, bios F11). I suspect the SPD tries to set a value outside this max range and that's why it doesn't post when that value is set to auto. For this reason as well, I doubt my mobo is in the compatible list for this mem, but that's no problem since it's now running just fine at rated speed after manual bios config as outlined above. Thanks to Gskill prompt reply in my previous review. I will be keeping the sticks, so long as they don't release their blue smoke.

Pros: Very fast throughput. I got about 90-100 MB/s sequential read from it to a X128 and about 60 MB/s read/write from and to itself. Quiet when it's idling, i.e. no motor noise. Good price.

Cons: Noisy when seeking. But I can handle that kind of noise.

Overall Review: This is a replacement for a DOA. I'm happy with Newegg policy and service. Thank you Newegg.

Cons: It rattles. I'm not kidding, it rattles like it was broken. It goes vrrrRRRAT TAT TAT tat tkszzz...rrrRAT TAT trrr And it's very loud when it does that. Well, that's my best interpretation. Overall Review: P.S. I don't actually know if it works or not but since the VGA card, which I ordered for the same system, was non-functional as well, I could hardly do anything else but return the drive for its own particular problem. Anyway, I'll write a review once I get a new, working drive and can actually use it. Until then, it gets only one egg for the cover sticker.
