Pros: I purchased this unit for multiple reasons. 1) Reasonable priced ink supplies. 2) Ink available from competitors. 3) Unit fits available space. 4) USB, wired ethernet, and wireless connections. 5) Duplex paper handling. 6) Sheet feeder for scanning and fax. 7) Can actually print on 11 by 17 paper.
I discovered after purchase that it will scan to jpeg or pdf files and write them to a plugged-in flash drive. This works with the unit connected to 120 AC only. No computer is required! Everybody at my house can scan photos and documents to their flash drive and then use the files on their own computer. No special IT abilities are required.
However, my unit is connected by USB to a computer and I regularly print over the wired network. Things seem to work fine.
I went to the effort and bought 50 sheets of 11 by 17 inch paper. I printed a circuit schematic as my test and found the drawing much easier to read than the 8.5 by 11 inch version. Printing 11 by 17 is a manual process and takes special effort but it does work correctly and should be fine for my "rare" need to print 11 by 17.
Conclusion: I did my research and the unit performs per the specifications.
Cons: As mentioned by other owners, the printer's paper handling is noisy! I'm surprised that Brother allowed this to occur. My other Brother printers are relatively quiet.
Other Thoughts: While I am a regular Newegg customer, I did buy my unit from another vendor because of special pricing. However, I did verify that I could purchase both Brother and 3rd party ink from Newegg. It is important that any printer manufacturer has competitors for their ink supplies!READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: IOGEAR GUC2100 USB2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter
Pros: The software driver only needs to be installed once and when each new unit is plugged in a new instance is created in the registry. These units have worked flawlessly for my application.
Cons: If you want to fully remove each unit from the registry, you must have the exact unit plugged into the PC during your uninstall process. However, I suspect this would be required when uninstalling any USB ethernet adapter.
Other Thoughts: I have purchased 14 of these units. My application required 6 additional ethernet ports per desktop PC. I added a 5 USB port PCI card to run 4 of the units. The other 2 units plugged into existing USB ports. All units work the same and no operational problems have occurred.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Acer V223WEJbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 ACM 50000:1(1000:1)
Pros: Just purchased 2 units, both are working fine. This Acer monitor (V223W EJbd, ET.EV3WP.E03) is rated at 21 watts. This is half of a previous version's (V223W bd, ET.EV3WP.001) rating of 45 watts. I can't see any reduction in brightness from the lower wattage unit. I will be able to operate 2 of these units for the same power consumption as the earlier version.
Cons: I can't buy this monitor with pivot and pan. I use these monitors in the portrait orientation and I have to hunt down my own stands. (really a product improvement and not a con)
Other Thoughts: I have owned 2 earlier versions for over 2 years and am satisfied with their operation. You can review the specifications for any Acer monitor at the USA Acer web site.READ FULL REVIEW
