Pros: -Insane Write Speed
-Insane Read Seed
-Got the Size specified
-Got the Read/Write Speed specified
Cons: Required me to hunt down a hyper kit prior to buying which was not readily available when I wanted to purchase.. I don't understand why they just don't bundle one with this product!
Other Thoughts: Hunting down an asus Hyper kit to use with the SSD was a bit of pain but man was it worth it.
I bench marked this drive using crystal disk mark and got the speeds that were right on par with benchmarks shown online.
Now benchmarks are great but it doesn't show the whole picture. So I did some more real world benchmarking. First thing I did was copy large files from one place to another (fsutil file createnew <filename> <length>). I copied:
-1GB file in sub seconds.
-5GB file in 3 sec
-10GB file in 6sec
-20GB file in 20sec
Now that's just insane. My raid SSD setup couldn't even hold a candle to this kind of speed.
Now what about something that is smaller but has tons of files. So I copied my works SVN repo from one place to another. It has about 41k files total with a total space used of 1.5GB.
Total time to copy: 3min 20sec
This is drastically much less time than my SSD raid setup. On there I was able only to copy in ~15mins. And on my laptop with an HDD it took ~1hr.
With gaming it plays a huge advantage as well. I've been playing Wither 3, Skyrim and Oblivion so far. I've yet to come across a loading screen take takes more than a second. Even playing a long play through of oblivion (which is know to generate huge save and cache files) it played like butter. Where as on my old Raid SSD rig it would take a good 2-3 secs to load.
I love this SSD! Great work intel!
Pros: -Very fast
-All around monster.
Other Thoughts: I got this for my new Mega Gaming PC / Work Station Comp build. It handles games great. Never goes above 40% util playing the most recent games. So I know this baby wont become obsolete for at least another 4-6 years.
And when it comes to working, this thing is a dream come true. I have multi-threaded Applications and power shell scripts I deal with at work and they take a bit of time to run. This CPU runs them like its nothing. About 50% faster than my old AMD. It's insane. I love this CPU. Worth every penny.
Pros: -Solid construction
-Tons of fans
-Build in multi fan adapter
-Tons of USB ports
Cons: -Fans are slightly loud. But for $89 that's ok with me
Other Thoughts: This is a great case to work with. This is my third PC build and I got tired of dealing with cramped mid tower cases. My sausage fingers were just to bug to work with it well.
This case was a joy to work with. Cable management and component installation was cinch everything works. Fans, USB ports, power button.
The case feels very solid and doors pop on and off easily with a very snug fit.
I also enjoyed the simple ascetics of the case as a whole.
